“Why walk when you can drive it in two days?”
Hola from the Camino. I’ve taken a moment from my sabbatical to reflect on my own tendency to rush, and how a slow, painstaking personal project taught me more about meaning than any “efficient” task ever has.
Maybe what we’re hungry for isn’t more productivity – it’s a sense of purpose and deep satisfaction in the work we do.
Even on the Camino, a path designed for reflection, people are racing through it, measuring their days by kilometres and deadlines. It mirrors what so many of us experience in our everyday work lives: the pressure to move fast, deliver more, and be endlessly “on.”
