๐Ÿ“ Berrigan ๐Ÿ“… Sunday, June 21st, 2026 โฐ 9:30 AM โ€“ 1:30 PM

Do you have plans for Sunday, June 21st? Weโ€™re reaching out to awesome individuals with positive energy (and a willingness to get a bit dirty) to join us at the Berrigan Community Planting Day at the Government Tank Paddock. With winter upon us, the soil is ideal, and we have a large selection of native plants eager to find their permanent homes. All they require is you - shovel in hand, boots on, and ready to dig in.

๐Ÿ“… Sunday, June 21st, 2026
๐Ÿ“ Berrigan Government Tank Paddock, at the corner of Riverina Hwy and Osborne St
โฐ 9:30 AM โ€“ 1:30 PM
๐Ÿฐ Morning tea and lunch will be provided (we value your volunteer efforts!)

Whatโ€™s in it for you?
โœ… Fresh air (the really good kind)
โœ… A warm community atmosphere
โœ… Bragging rights whenever you pass by and say, โ€œYepโ€ฆ I planted that.โ€

Bring:
๐ŸŒฟ Sturdy footwear, a hat, and clothes you donโ€™t mind getting a little dirty
๐ŸŒฟ A drink bottle
๐ŸŒฟ Gloves if you have them
๐ŸŒฟ A friend or two (more hands = less digging each!)

Weโ€™ll have the plants and tools (or feel free to bring your own shovel), plus loads of positive vibes. Whether you can stay for an hour or the entire morning, every bit helps, and we assure you itโ€™ll be rewarding ๐Ÿ˜Š. Interested? Let us know via the QR Code on the flyer OR call
Mark Ryan M: 0427 858 227 (Berrigan Conservation Group and Tidy Towns Committee)
Andrea Mitchell M: 0474 725 719 (RGA Landcare)

Letโ€™s cultivate good things - both in our soil and community ๐ŸŒฟ

The Sloaneโ€™s Froglet is a small, threatened species now restricted in NSW to a handful of locations along the Murray River, with one of its strongest populations in the Corowa area.

This annual event provides an update on the species, local frog populations, and how community members can get involved in conservation through the Sloaneโ€™s Champions project using the Australian Museumโ€™s FrogID app.

This year we are joined by expert ecologist, Dr Dave Hunter from NSW DCCEEW. Enjoy a light meal, an informative presentation and a guided spotlight walk around the Whitehead Street Wetland to search for frogs.

As well as the main event, weโ€™re excited to announce a special add-on session inviting tertiary students (NRM, ecology, environmental science), early-career practitioners and frog enthusiasts to join NSW DCCEEW for their annual frog survey around Corowa.
