If you work, study, run a business, care for others, invest, or pay rent or a mortgage... you are already part of the economy. In our chats we meet many people, across very different circumstances, who are quietly questioning whether the current economic system is delivering the security, time, and wellbeing it promised.

As part of Reclaim the Economy Week, WYN Hub is hosting an online conversation on the future of work, money, and the economy. This session isn’t about blaming individuals or prescribing solutions. Instead, it’s a space to step back and better understand the systems we’re all operating within and to explore what other possibilities might exist.

Drawing on wellbeing, regenerative, and place-based economic thinking, the discussion will connect lived experience with systems-level insight.

This is a space for listening, learning, and curiosity — no economics background or particular viewpoint required.

If this resonates, you’re warmly invited to join the conversation.

Access notes:
- Mums with babies are warmly invited, and we’ll have access to a small outdoor space where children can safely play.

We are thrilled to announce that WYN Hub is now a member of the Wellbeing Economy Alliance!

The Wellbeing Economy Alliance is a global network of organisations and individuals that are committed to creating an economy in service to people and is better future for all 🌏💖

Joining this network is especially important for a small grassroots for-purpose organisation like us so we can learn from initiatives around the world and put Bunurong Country on the map as well for people doing differently. Our diverse networks and communities in Wyndham set us up to be meaningful contributors to a society that leaves no one behind. Together, we can design an economy that prioritises the wellbeing of people and planet.

We’re thrilled to be a community partner for the Muslim Wealth Summit – Melbourne 2025, because this event reflects what we all believe in: access, equity, and opportunity. Whether you're a student, entrepreneur, investor, or professional—this summit is for you.

🧠Hear from a diverse and powerful lineup, with over 25 speakers and 150+ attendees, this will be a powerful space for connection, learning, and action.

I'm especially excited to be facilitating a conversation alongside Alisha Saiyed around ethics, justice and economics. Our faith requires us to be building community wealth and make sure no ones gets left behind so how do we do this in a country that is continuously navigating challenges of inequity.

WYN Hub is exploring what business done differently can look like in Melbourne's West. Business done with social good at its heart. On that same wavelength, would that mean businesses that are... anticapitalist? Unsure but worth exploring, especially after the recent reports from Oxfam on how wealth is distributed across the world and the role of economies on the illegal occupation and jennyside of Pal3stine.

The slides above are some snippets and quotes from an article that poses the same question. Link in bio for the full blog post.

My new UN report, From Economy of Occupation to Economy of Genocide, is out today.

It shows how corporations have fueled and legitimised the destruction of Palestine.

Genocide, it would seem, is profitable.

This cannot continue, accountability must follow.

In collaboration with we’re sharing the third addition to our Radical Futures Toolkit series - exploring the tools, skills, and concepts we need to build liberatory futures. Think starter-pack vibes, designed to help us thrive outside of our current oppressive systems, all while grounding ourselves in existing projects, resources, and communities already putting these practices to work.

📉Degrowth is a practice, a process, and movement which challenges the capitalist obsession with GDP growth and instead prioritises ecological sustainability, economic equity and collective care and dignity.

💭It envisions a world where resources are shared equitably, work is restructured around care and community, and economic systems are designed to sustain life - not profit. It requires a transformation of values and practices at the personal, local, national, regional and global level.

🔍Inside this toolkit:
🌾Unpacking ‘growth’ & Capitalocentrism
🔄The relationship between Degrowth & Postgrowth
🤝Solidarity economics 101
🛠️Offers & needs markets
🏡Case study: A Visit to Can Decreix

📚Want to go deeper? We’ve linked projects, resources, and readings to help bridge the gap between imagination and action.
