Placental Scans!

Does your mare have a history of placentitis, or premature foaling? Don't fly blind!

Placental scans can aid in the identification of ascending placentitis, EAFL (hairy caterpillars) and placental insufficiency. Through transrectal ultrasonography we can measure CUPT (combined uterine and placental thickness), umbilical vessel thickness and evaluate amniotic and allantoic fluid appearance. We can then tailor treatment to your mare as necessary.

Placental scans can be carried out on-farm, in an approved equine crush, or at the clinic.

We have a casual position becoming available to the right horse person. Must have good horse experience and eye for detail.
Main duties will be cleaning stables catching mares and feeding. Other general farm work may also be required.
Approximately 20 hours a week with some weekend work available.
