In 2020, I followed a nudge that I was destined for more than the 9-5 and helping to line other people’s pockets, so I resigned from my admin job of 11+ years. Amidst a global pandemic, and with no backup plan in sight, I just knew that I had to get out and pursue my dream of helping people. I am currently in my second year of studying a Bachelor of Science (Psychology), which is hands down the be
st decision I've made, though the desire to get back into the workforce does tempt me every so often, and like many other mothers I feel guilt for not contributing to the family income. I've spent many hours hunting down work-from-home jobs, researching ways to make money online and have even dabbled in MLM businesses, to no avail. I kept cycling through my thoughts, 'there should be more jobs that tailor to mums wanting flexibility with their work', 'I should start a business, but what?', and 'maybe I should just go back to admin while I'm studying, I was really good at that'. AHA, well there's an idea! So, I combined the three and 'Sammi-Lee Grace: Small Business VA' was born! A self described 'forever student', I am a very quick learner because systems and 'how things work' are my jam. This is possibly why I've been told by so many that I should be a teacher, because I like to have a very high level of understanding of systems and processes, so teaching others come easy.
