🏆 Meet Deejay Egan — a finalist in the Young Business Person of the Year Award, proudly sponsored by TAFE Queensland!

At 34, Deejay has built something truly remarkable. Drawing on his own experiences in foster care, and navigating the homelessness, disability and justice systems, he made a decision that would change hundreds of lives: to create the support he wished had existed for him as a child.

In 2021, he founded DCC in Ipswich. Just a few years later, it employs more than 800 people and supports over 800 children, young people and families across Queensland — through residential care, disability supports, allied health, youth justice and community services.

As a proud Biripi man, Deejay's leadership is proof that lived experience, when channelled with purpose, can become a force for lasting change.

After 16+ years serving in the Australian Defence Force, Jason made the leap into property and founded Candid Property — a buyer's agency right here in Ipswich, built specifically to support buyers who want genuine, personalised guidance through every step of the purchasing process.

☀️ We're thrilled to announce that Ipswich Solar and Electrical has been named a finalist in the Small Business of the Year Award at the Ipswich Region 2026 Business Excellence Awards!

What a journey it's been. Back in 2010, founder Darren Rosolak started this family business with a small team operating out of a shed in Brassall, driven by a simple but powerful goal — help local households take control of their energy costs through solar power.

Fast forward to today, and the team has grown to nine staff, expanded their services to include qualified electricians, and rebranded to Ipswich Solar and Electrical in 2025 to reflect that growth. Through it all, they've stayed true to what matters most: quality workmanship, honest advice, and genuine care for the Ipswich community.

A huge congratulations to Darren, Shelley, and the whole team — this recognition is well deserved! 👏
