I’m thrilled to announce that, effective 2nd September 2024, Laurus Bookkeeping is merging with BYO Group! After more than 19 years in practice, this collaboration is a significant milestone in our journey.

This merger is all about growth - both for our clients and our team. By joining forces with BYO Group (who themselves have been around for 18 years), we're excited to continue delivering high-standard, seamless bookkeeping services while expanding our capabilities.

In addition to our existing services, we will now offer Accounting, Virtual CFO, Budgeting & Cashflow Management, and Business Planning, supported by a strong team of over 30 professionals across Australia and overseas.

While I will continue working with the combined BYO/Laurus team, this merger provides me the opportunity to step back from day-to-day bookkeeping and leverage my years of experience to focus on supporting SMEs and the wonderful bookkeeping industry through training and consulting services.

Our dedicated team members - Deb, Carlene, and Sam - are transitioning as part of this merger and will continue to be actively involved, ensuring you receive the same personalised care and attention you’ve always experienced.

Now this is pretty cool - closing the loop on the approvals processes on the sales quotes and invoices side of the ledger.

If you use Xero, your clients can now use ApprovalMaxto create, approve and send sales quotes to customers, and customers can accept your quote, without needing to access ApprovalMax.

Full transparency for you and your sales teams over quotes that have been accepted.

And.....

Once the quote has been accepted, it can then be used to create your Sales Invoice.... all with the inbuilt approval workflows that we know and love in ApprovalMax

When working with clients we get a lot of questions and comments around treatment of transactions, especially where there appears to be a conflict between our perception and the clients expectation on how they should be recorded.

As Registered BAS Agents, the Code of Conduct requirement for Reasonable Care is the reference we use to align our decisions and actions to.

This document steps through the TPBs perspective on what constitutes reasonable care in the engagements we have with our clients.

It also steps through a number of working examples that demonstrate the application of this code item.
