Skills take minutes to build. Not days.

I'm still surprised how many people think building a Skill is a technical job.

It's not. You sit down with Claude, tell it what you want it to remember or do every time, and it writes the Skill with you. One button to upload, and it's done.

I think people get scared it's too technical - you don't need to know how any of it works under the hood. You just need to know what you want, and Claude builds it alongside you.

What's one thing you'd want Claude to just know how to do every time? Tell me below.

Claude remembers you now. That's not the same as knowing how you work.

Anthropic just rolled out memory that carries automatically across chats - definitely useful, and worth turning on if you haven't already. But there's a difference between Claude remembering who you are and Claude knowing how you actually want things done.

Memory picks up facts as you go. Skills are the standing instructions it reads before the conversation even starts - your templates, your process, your voice.

Get both working together and you've gone from "it remembers me" to "it already knows how I work."

Claude doesn't know your clients. You do.

We say this to almost every client in their first session: the best source of information for your business isn't a prompt someone else wrote. It's you.

Use Claude to guide you, not replace your expertise. It's great at pulling what you already know out of you faster, but it's not a shortcut around actually having it.

So here's a prompt to actually sit with today: if you had a brilliant new assistant starting Monday, what are the five things you'd hand over first?

She came out of our AI workshop buzzing, and by the time we got on the call, she was already overwhelmed.

Two minutes in, she said it straight: "I feel like there's a million other places we should really be using this AI stuff." She'd just finished the workshop, and every idea felt urgent at once.

That's actually where people get stuck, and it's not because AI is hard. The inspiration just turns into a list of fifteen things, and none of them get started.

So we picked one problem. Just one. Her clinic's assessment reports were taking longer than they needed to, so that's what we fixed first, in one session.

You don't need a big system build to get moving. You just need one focused problem, and someone to help you actually solve it.

Tried to build an infographic template with Claude and Canva this week. First go? Not even close.

We were setting up a Canva template with a client - first pass came back looking nothing like either of us pictured.

Honestly, that's pretty normal. A lot of people hit that rough first draft and decide the tool just doesn't work. It's not broken, it just needs another go.

So we tightened up the brief, gave it clearer direction on layout, and the second pass was miles closer. Three rounds in, it was done.

If your first crack at something visual flops, that doesn't mean AI can't do it. It just means you're one round of feedback away from getting there.

Running a business is lonely. It doesn't have to be.

You used to wait until your partner got home to think a problem through out loud. Now you've got somewhere to put that thought the moment it happens.

It's not about replacing anyone. It's about not sitting on a problem for eight hours because there was nowhere to take it.

Where do you currently go to think out loud about your business?

AI should never write your clinical notes for you. It should draft, and you decide.

When we built a report-writing setup for an allied health client, one rule sat above everything else: never fabricate content. Something's unclear or contradictory, it gets flagged in red — not smoothed over.

A human still checks the draft, every time. That's not a limitation. That's the system actually working properly.

The goal was never "AI writes it." The goal's always been "AI does the heavy lifting, you make the call."

A lovely testimonial from Pippa van Wijk at Brisbane Feeding Clinic:

“Before working with Debbie, our processes were manual, clunky and time consuming, and we had lots of ideas but no clue where to start.

Since then, our core processes have been streamlined and the time they take has more than halved, leaving much more time for the creative work.

I've also gained the confidence to try new ways of using AI to produce resources for the business.

Working with Debbie never felt like paying for something I could do myself, or getting caught in a loop of relying on her expertise; she struck the right balance of expert and facilitator, growing my confidence while still leaving room for me to come back for more help.”

Thank you, Pippa!

Now, over to you…

What could you do with the extra time if your business processes took HALF as long? 🤔

More creative work?
More time with clients?
Finally tackling those ideas sitting on your to-do list?

Let’s make some of that extra time happen. Let’s chat: https://www.productivityhub.com.au/lets-chat/

"Ask me clarifying questions before you start."

One line. Changes how useful your AI output actually is.

Most people brief Claude like they're briefing a document, not a person — all instruction, no back-and-forth. Asking it to check its understanding first catches the misunderstanding before it costs you a rewrite.

It's a conversation, not a vending machine.

It's never the big stuff that burns you out. It's the half-percenters.

The tiny frictions. Re-explaining something for the third time. Chasing a document you know exists somewhere. Switching between four tabs to do one task.

None of it feels like much on its own. That's exactly why it never gets fixed — it's just not dramatic enough to bother prioritising.

But it compounds. A dozen half-percenters a day, and you're a genuinely exhausted business owner by Friday.

This is actually what AI implementation is for — not "10x-ing" anything, just removing the drag.
