📢 PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: Business Owners - Have you paid your teams super yet?

If your business pays superannuation quarterly, your Q4 super payment isn't due until 28 July. However, paying it before 30 June may allow you to claim the deduction in the current financial year.

With Payday Super commencing from 1 July, employers will soon need to pay super at the same time as employee wages are processed. This means July could place additional pressure on cash flow, as businesses may need to fund both their ongoing payroll super obligations and their outstanding Q4 super payment.

Now is a great time to review your cash flow and consider whether bringing forward your Q4 super payment could benefit your business.

The ATO rules for claiming differ depending on whether an expense is work related or deemed to be entertainment. Getting it wrong could mean missing out on eligible deductions or incorrectly claiming GST.

While tea, coffee and light refreshments provided in the workplace are generally claimable, meals, alcohol and social outings may be treated differently for tax purposes.
