โ๏ธ Winter is a timely reminder that protecting older people starts with accessible, trusted health information.
Older people are at greater risk of serious illness from influenza, COVID-19 and RSV. Research from WHO, the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing studies shows that culturally appropriate communication and information in a person's preferred language can improve health literacy scores by around 20-30%, build confidence and support informed vaccination decisions.
As the WA member of the PICAC Alliance, Fortis Consulting is committed to advancing equitable healthcare because we believe it begins with communication that everyone can understand. That's why we're proud to support aged care providers and multicultural communities by sharing multilingual winter vaccination resources developed to help older people access trusted information in their own language.
By reducing language barriers, we can help improve awareness, encourage informed conversations with healthcare professionals and support healthier communities this winter.
Explore the free multilingual winter vaccination resources and share them with your staff, Culturally and Linguistic Diverse (CALD) clients and communities.
Together, we can make trusted health information accessible to everyone. Speak to your GP, pharmacist or healthcare provider to learn more and book your vaccination.
