⛏️ Great night of networking in Kalgoorlie!

Curtin University’s Western Australian School of Mines (WASM) and the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) teamed up to host an industry networking event in the heart of the Goldfields, and we were proud to be invited to speak.

Black Diamond shared the stage with Northern Star Resources, Australia’s largest gold producer, with each company delivering a keynote presentation and a real-world case study. Thank you to WASM and AusIMM for having us, and to everyone who came along.

The night also marked the official debut of the Curtin University Wombat Mining Team, proudly sponsored by Black Diamond! 🏆 The team will soon head to Colorado, USA, to take on the world’s best at the International Intercollegiate Mining Competition.

Best of luck to this talented group from the Goldfields. We can’t wait to see you bring the trophy home! 🇦🇺

What a night at the annual Kai’s Big Gold Ball! 💛

On 10 October, more than 900 guests filled the Crown Tower Ballroom for this black-tie event supporting the Kids Cancer Support Group (KCSG). Members of our team were proud to be in the room, helping to raise funds for this great cause.

As a long-time Major Sponsor of KCSG, Black Diamond Drilling Services Australia supports the group through a partnership that turns used drill bits into donations. We recycle drill bits from clients in the Pilbara and give the proceeds directly to KCSG, so the work we do on site helps local kids and families facing cancer.

A big thank you to the KCSG team for the recognition on the night, accepted by Mitch and Dave on behalf of all of us. We’re honoured to keep standing behind these incredible kids and families.

A milestone for Black Diamond Drilling Services Australia 🚚⛏️

Last week we made another shipment of mining equipment to the biggest gold mine in Australia, and our team and facilities on site are now up and running.

This operation marks the start of what we hope will be a strong, long-term partnership.

Our commitment is simple: supply quality products, back them with unmatched customer service, and help end users increase productivity while reducing operating costs.

A big thank you to the Boddington team for their trust — and to our own crew for making this delivery happen. We're excited for what's ahead.

💎 Small Business. Big Impact. Stronger Goldfields.

Small businesses are the backbone of Western Australia — and nowhere is that more evident than here in the Goldfields.

New figures from the Small Business Development Corporation reveal that WA’s small businesses contributed an incredible $87.2 billion to the State’s economy in 2024–25, including $25.6 billion from the mining sector alone. Small businesses now account for 97% of all businesses in WA and employ more than 540,000 people.

This week, the Black Diamond Drilling team was proud to be part of the conversation as the SBDC Board and Small Business Commissioner visited Kalgoorlie-Boulder to hear directly from local businesses about the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Our Goldfields General Manager, Andrew Zafer, spoke about the importance of continuous learning, supporting local employment, building strong customer relationships and investing in the local community.

“You never stop learning. Any information that’s going to help the prosperity of the business and allow us to be more efficient in our day-to-day operations, that’s always worthwhile.”

💪 A Record-Breaking Effort from Our Warehouse Team!

We’d like to take a moment to recognise and congratulate the incredible efforts of our Black Diamond Drilling Services Australia Warehouse Team! 👏

Last week, the team achieved an outstanding milestone by successfully unloading a record 8 shipping containers in a single week — an enormous effort that required teamwork, careful planning, technical expertise and plenty of hard work.

What makes this achievement even more impressive is that it was completed safely and without incident, despite challenging conditions. It’s a great example of the professionalism and commitment our warehouse team brings to the business every day.

A special mention goes to our new Warehouse Manager, Rozarna Kamau, who has made a fantastic start in her new role. Rozarna did an excellent job coordinating the team, managing the workload and ensuring everything kept moving efficiently and safely.

With more than 20 years of experience in the mining industry, Nigel brings extensive technical knowledge and hands-on expertise to our team. Throughout his career, he has worked with Epiroc and several Tier One mining companies, including time spent supporting operations at the iconic Super Pit in Kalgoorlie.
