Good governance shouldn't depend on your postcode.

That's one of the reasons we started offering Governance Essentials online.
Between the cost of living, fuel prices and the realities of regional WA, travelling to a workshop isn't always practical. We wanted to make governance training more accessible, without compromising on quality.

We've been running these sessions for the past few months, and the feedback has been fantastic.

Our next session is coming up on Thursday 16 July, and there are still places available.

If you're a committee member, board member, office bearer or volunteer operating under the WA Incorporated Associations Act, we'd love to see you there.

📅 Thursday 16 July | 🕠 5:30pm - 7:30pm AWST

People talk about regional towns as if they’re just smaller versions of cities. They’re not.

- They operate differently.
- Everyone knows everyone.
- History sits underneath decisions.
- Capacity is finite.
- Mistakes travel fast.

So when strategy is lifted from a metro context and dropped into a regional one, it doesn’t just struggle - it can actively create friction, fatigue, and quiet resistance.

Regional strategy has to be built for the conditions it’s actually operating in, not the conditions someone wishes existed.

Good regional strategy isn’t flashy - it’s grounded and it holds up under pressure.

If this sounds familiar, you know where to find us.

Strategy that lives on a shelf is very good at looking busy.

Most organisations don’t have a strategy problem; they have a translation problem.

The thinking might be sound. The intent genuine. But if the strategy doesn’t change how decisions get made on a random Tuesday, it slowly becomes background noise.

In regional contexts, that’s risky. Capacity is tight. Relationships matter. History has a long memory.

When strategy doesn’t provide clarity, people default to habit, politics, or whoever speaks the loudest. That’s not a leadership failure; it’s a design failure.

We’re interested in strategy that gives people permission - to prioritise, to stop things, and to make calls that won’t please everyone; because that’s what actually moves places forward.

Kicking off 2026 with purpose, momentum and… whatever this ostrich energy is!

We are picking up the pace - planning trips, reconnecting, creating and gearing up for another year of meaningful work across regional Australia.

If you want to follow along - the projects, the insights, the community stories and the occasional “you won’t believe what we saw on this trip” moment - our newsletter is the best place to stay in the loop.

Got a mate running a small or micro business in the regions?

Maybe they’re in Albany, Meekatharra, Kununurra, Coober Pedy, Katherine, Stanley, Winton — or anywhere in between.

We’re offering affordable branding packages designed specifically for country businesses. Individual items start from $125, and everything can be done remotely.

If you know someone whose logo still lives in Paint… or on the back of an old envelope… this might be their nudge 😉

Tell your friends. Tag them below. Or send this their way.

We’d love to help more small businesses look as capable as they actually are.

We're easing into 2026…

We’re starting the year in “light work” mode: writing tenders and business grants, clearing the paperwork, and doing the behind-the-scenes work that sets us up for the year ahead.

If you’d like to chat about a project, explore collaboration opportunities, or just have a catch up, now’s a great time to reach out.

Whether it’s a strategy refresh, governance support, strengthening engagement with your community, or evaluating a 2025 project, the best ideas often come when the pace is a little slower.

🎄✨ Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from Wander ✨🎄

As 2025 comes to a close, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has made this year so interesting, engaging, and yes - sometimes challenging. Every project, every conversation, and every community we’ve had the privilege to work with has shaped us in new and meaningful ways.

We’ll be taking a short pause over the festive season, with light work continuing and a few days fully offline between 22 December and 27 January. Emails will still be checked (just not as quickly as usual), and we’ll be back into full swing in February.

Until then, we wish you and your communities a safe, restful, and joy-filled holiday season. Here’s to a 2026 full of fresh ideas, strong connections, and more good work together.

𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗔𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀.

It’s how we like to work.

Collaboration asks you to be open to learning, to welcome the value others bring and to recognise that no one has all the answers.

It’s exciting and rewarding to build something with others - whether that’s Jade and Claire working together internally or partnering with other consultancies, professionals and specialists on shared projects.

We believe better outcomes come from diverse perspectives, complementary skill sets and genuine teamwork.

If you value shared success, generosity and good work over ego and competition, we would love to connect with you in 2026.
