The decision to start her own workplace advisory service was brought about by an increasing number of locals voicing their concerns on the lack of assistance available to employers and employees in the Goldfields/Esperance region.

There are restrictions on the types of job and the times of the day children under 15 can work that apply during school holidays as well as term time.

Employers, parents and young workers need to know that children who are 13 or 14 can only work in a shop, fast food outlet, café, restaurant or deliver newspapers or other advertising material. There are restrictions on working hours for children of this age.
