Funding Success Starts Before the Application

Many not-for-profit organisations focus on finding grants, but the real work starts long before the application is submitted.

Recently, we worked with a client who wanted to understand what funding opportunities were available and how they needed to prepare. Together, we explored funding options across local council, state, and federal government programs, assessed eligibility, and discussed what helps strengthen a funding application.

By the end of the session, they didn’t just have information—they had a clear roadmap, practical tools, and a tailored checklist to guide their next steps.

Most importantly, they left with confidence.

Confidence in what opportunities were available, confidence in their eligibility, and confidence in their ability to prepare for future funding success.

Preparation doesn’t guarantee funding, but it does put you in a much stronger position when opportunities arise.

Is your organisation funding-ready? Send us a message to discuss how we can help you prepare before the next grant opportunity opens. Email: [email protected]

Don’t Ignore the Market That Can’t Afford You

One thing Arihia has learnt as an entrepreneur is that there are multiple ways to earn income and multiple ways to make an impact.

Not everyone can afford your premium services, coaching packages, consulting fees, or high-ticket products. That doesn’t mean they don’t need your knowledge.

One of the ways Arihia has chosen to bridge that gap is through books.

Books are an affordable way for people to access your expertise, insights, and experiences without the investment of a one-on-one service. They allow you to help more people while creating another income stream for your business.

Too many business owners focus solely on high-ticket clients and, in doing so, miss an untapped market of people who genuinely want to learn from them but aren’t yet in a position to invest thousands of dollars.

Impact doesn’t only happen at the premium end of the market.

Sometimes the person who buys your book today becomes your client tomorrow. Sometimes they never become a client, but your knowledge helps them achieve a result they couldn’t have achieved otherwise.

Build a business that creates both income and impact. There is room for both.

What went WRONG in Pakihi (business) and how we fixed it 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️🤷‍♀️❌😅👍🏽 Never a dull moment

🚨 Things That Go Wrong In Business | Part 6 🚨

When our email and website domain crashed 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️❌🤷‍♀️

One minute everything’s running smoothly… next minute:
❌ emails stop working
❌ website goes down
❌ clients can’t contact you
❌ behind-the-scenes chaos begins 😅

The fun part? You still have to keep business running while fixing everything in the background 🫠

So while sorting out domains, hosting, redirects, email access, and tech support dramas behind the scenes… we were still:
✔ servicing clients
✔ communicating through backup options
✔ keeping operations moving
✔ finding solutions instead of panicking

Nobody really talks about these parts of business 😅
Sometimes entrepreneurship is less “CEO vibes” and more “why is everything breaking today?” 😂

But we got there in the end 🙌

Goal: Auahatanga (innovation & creativity)

One of the key focuses today was embracing auahatanga through strategic thinking and creative approaches when supporting a client online.

Part of the process involved helping them position themselves more effectively to attract the right clients and opportunities aligned with their goals and values. We also explored different strategies and approaches they may need to use to strengthen their visibility, engagement, and overall direction moving forward.

It was a good reminder that innovation in business is not always about creating something entirely new. Sometimes it’s about thinking differently, adapting approaches, and finding more meaningful ways to connect with the people you are trying to reach.

Auahatanga allows space for creativity, strategy, and intentional growth, especially when supporting others to build businesses that are sustainable and authentic to who they are.
