The US NAVY prediction usually gets it closer than everybody else, so here is the latest;

For Exmouth TC Mitchell looks like it's heading down the opposite side of the gulf and still to track more East but brings the track closer to Onslow & Karratha

Where do I start? There was no sign of any good storms today anywhere near Karratha then I see this epic cell coming from Roebourne way dropping A LOT of bolts. The timing was perfect- big storm cells around sunset look amazing. As it came towards us at a fast pace I really marvelled at the insane textures the clouds had- this was truly a beast which we dont see often in Karratha. So i sent the drone up from my house in Baynton and I took 6 images to make this mega panoramic image of this absolute beast of a storm. Once it passed over us I could not believe the lightning count! I have been here since 2007 and this doesnt happen here very often. Needless to say I am very happy and so glad I got this image to share with you. I trust you all enjoyed this epic event as much as me :)

Tropical Cyclone Taliah strengthening north of the Pilbara

Areas affected:

Details of Tropical Cyclone Taliah 14U at 2:00 pm AWST:

Intensity: category 1, sustained winds near the centre of 75 kilometres per hour with wind gusts to 100 kilometres per hour.
Location: within 20 kilometres of 14.5 degrees South, 116.2 degrees East , 700 kilometres north of Karratha and 860 kilometres north northeast of Exmouth .
Movement: west at 21 kilometres per hour .

Tropical Cyclone Taliah has developed north of the Pilbara and is moving west southwest. It will remain far offshore of the WA coast as it continues strengthening over the next few days, and is forecast to reach Category 4 on Tuesday.

Hazards:

Tropical Cyclone Taliah is unlikely to directly impact the Australian mainland.
