Facebook Groups are still important, but you can no longer simply share your business posts.

Local Facebook Groups can still be a great way for small businesses to reach people in their community. But simply creating a promotional post on your business Page and sharing it into multiple Groups may not deliver the reach or engagement it once did.

Facebook is placing greater emphasis on relevant, original and engaging content, and Group members generally don’t join community Groups because they want to see a stream of advertisements.

The opportunity is still there, but businesses need to change their approach: participate in the community, answer questions, provide useful information and create content specifically for the people they want to reach.

In our workshop, we’ll look at how to use local Groups effectively without simply treating them as free advertising boards.

1,000 followers on Facebook. But how many see your posts?

For years, businesses have worked hard to build their Facebook followers. But having 1,000 followers doesn’t mean 1,000 people, or even most of them, will see what you post.

Facebook is increasingly deciding what appears in people’s feeds based on their interests, behaviour and engagement, rather than simply showing them posts from the Pages they follow.
That means your follower count is becoming a much less useful measure of your Facebook success.

As a small business owner, you're constantly balancing competing priorities, from serving customers to managing operations and driving growth. While bookkeeping may not be the most exciting part of running a business, getting it right can make all the difference.

Accurate bookkeeping is more than just keeping records up to date. It's about understanding the financial health of your business and having the information you need to make confident decisions.

Poor bookkeeping can create costly challenges that impact day-to-day operations and long-term growth.

Red flags to watch for:
❌ Receipts and invoices are hard to find
❌ Missed invoices and delayed payments
