This Land Rover had become deeply bogged in soft mud with limited access and very little firm ground surrounding it. Once a vehicle reaches this point, repeated attempts to drive out will often settle it further and increase the recovery loads involved.

This Bobcat became bogged after breaking through the surface of the salt flats. Ground that appears firm can quickly give way under the weight of plant, and continuing to operate the machine can bury it further.

The recovery was planned around the machine’s weight, changing ground conditions and the limited firm access available allowing it to be returned to stable ground without making the situation worse.

Called in to assist Karratha Tilt Trays with the recovery of a truck following a major mechanical failure on a Rio Tinto site.
