Recently, we had the pleasure of working with Stone Axe Pastoral Company on a custom artwork installation for their Brisbane office.

The project featured a striking three-panel landscape canvas installation alongside a large-format black-and-white bull portrait presented in a custom matte black floater frame. Together, the artworks create a strong connection to Stone Axe's pastoral heritage while complementing the contemporary design of their Fortitude Valley workspace.

For this project, our team assisted with artwork preparation, image cropping, large-format canvas printing, custom framing, and delivery, ensuring each piece was produced to suit the space perfectly.

We recently had the pleasure of working with François Detaille on his latest exhibition NATURE, now showing at Jan Manton Gallery in Teneriffe.

This project brought together a combination of large-scale gallery wrap canvas prints and SwissQ 3D metal prints, allowing each artwork to showcase incredible detail, depth, and colour. Every piece was carefully produced, stretched, and framed to ensure a consistent, gallery-quality finish across the entire exhibition.

We also produced a Phototex wall graphic for the entrance, helping set the scene and create a more immersive experience for visitors as they enter the space.

Opening night was a fantastic success, with a great turnout and strong interest in the work on display.

It’s always rewarding to collaborate closely with artists to help bring their vision to life—especially in a gallery setting where presentation is everything.

We recently completed this large-scale aluminium print for Maple Street Tea in Maleny — turning a beautiful landscape photograph into a striking wall feature.

Produced at 1350 x 1800mm, this piece was printed directly onto aluminium composite (ACM) using a high-resolution file supplied by the photographer. The result is a crisp, detailed image with excellent colour depth, designed to hold up even at this size.

To ensure durability, we finished the print with a protective Sandtex laminate and installed a custom baton mounting system on the reverse for a clean floating effect.

It’s a great example of how the right file preparation and production process can elevate photography into a premium display piece.

We recently completed an exhibition printing and mounting project for WOW Australia, producing a cohesive series of portrait works ready for display.

Each piece was printed on Ilford Lustre Satin Photo Paper for strong colour reproduction with reduced glare, then mounted to rigid board with clean white borders for a consistent gallery presentation. A simple backing strip and D-ring system was applied to ensure quick installation and a flush finish on the wall.

The full set was produced with touring in mind, making it easy to transport, install, and rehang across multiple locations.

We recently completed a large-format metal printing project for Newmont, transforming their Brisbane office with a series of premium aluminium composite prints.

Produced at 1300 × 950 mm using our SwissQprint technology, these works deliver exceptional detail, durability, and a clean, frameless finish. By standardising the size and presentation across all pieces, we created a cohesive, gallery-style look throughout the space.

From file preparation through to final production and installation coordination, this was a great example of how thoughtful print and display can elevate a workplace environment.

Prolab was proud to produce the exhibition prints for Shimmer, the latest body of work by acclaimed Australian contemporary artist Gerwyn Davies, now showing at the Museum of Brisbane.

This vibrant exhibition features 12 large-scale photographic portraits exploring identity, transformation and visibility, created in collaboration with trans and gender diverse young people from Open Doors Youth Service.

For this project, we produced exhibition-quality photographic prints with rich colour, sharp detail and strong consistency across the full series, helping bring this powerful body of work to life within the gallery space.

We always value the opportunity to work with artists, curators and galleries on meaningful exhibition projects, and Shimmer is a wonderful example of contemporary photographic work presented at its best.

We recently partnered with Eye Food Factory to produce a series of premium artworks using our SwissQprint flatbed printing technology, printed directly onto white matte aluminium (ACM).

This project included both clean rectangular artworks and custom-shaped “Fakeboards,” all finished with a matte varnish layer to improve durability and reduce fingerprinting during handling and installation.

By printing directly to ACM, we achieved excellent colour depth, strong blacks, and a refined matte surface—perfect for contemporary gallery display. Each piece was precision CNC cut to ensure clean edges and accurate alignment with the artwork.

It’s a great example of how combining advanced print technology with thoughtful production workflows can deliver consistent, high-quality results.

We recently partnered with a new premium iris photography studio to produce a series of gallery-quality acrylic face-mounted artworks for their Australian launch.

This project focused on delivering exceptional depth, clarity and colour accuracy using Ilford Crystal Gloss photographic paper, optically clear acrylic and a fully colour-managed workflow. Each piece was finished with concealed float mounting to create a clean, architectural presentation suited to luxury studio and retail environments.

The range included square hero artworks, paired portrait formats and large-scale panoramic pieces, demonstrating how highly detailed photography can be transformed into striking contemporary wall art.
