Prolab recently completed the production of 10 exhibition-ready photographic panels for the Lord Mayor’s Photographic Awards 2026, now on display at the Museum of Brisbane in Brisbane City Hall.

Each photograph was professionally prepared and printed on Ilford Satin Lustre, mounted to 3mm Alupanel, finished with Sandtex laminate and supplied with an aluminium Z-Bar hanging system for installation.

With a tight production window between receiving the final competition files and the exhibition install, our team also handled file assessment, image upscaling, colour preparation and digital proofing in-house.

It was a great project to be involved with, and even better to see the finished works installed as part of the Everyday Brisbane exhibition.

We recently completed this striking pair of 600 × 300 mm metallic acrylic prints featuring highly detailed iris photography.

The metallic acrylic finish adds beautiful depth and subtle shimmer to the images, bringing out the intricate blue, white and amber details within each iris. We finished both pieces with rear baton hanging assemblies to create a clean, contemporary frameless presentation.

This style of acrylic printing works particularly well for photography and artwork with strong colour, contrast and fine detail.

Produced by Prolab in Kelvin Grove, Brisbane.

We recently completed a major large-format canvas printing and custom framing project for Aria Property Group’s Sanctuary Display Gallery in South Brisbane.

The project involved producing 15 replacement canvas displays in a range of vertical and panoramic sizes, including pieces measuring up to 2690 × 1400 mm.

Each artwork was carefully checked, colour-managed and printed on Ilford Galerie Décor Canvas Bright White 380gsm. Our framing team then stretched the new canvases and refitted them into Aria’s existing timber floater frames, preserving the established gallery presentation while refreshing the entire display.

This project is a great example of how existing commercial framing can be reused successfully when accurate sizing, proofing and production planning are managed carefully.

We recently completed this large custom acrylic-mounted Hema Australia Road & Terrain map for Stone Axe Pastoral Company’s Brisbane office.

The high-resolution artwork was proportionally resized to approximately 1400mm wide × 1225mm high, allowing the full map and detailed cartographic information to remain visible without cropping.

We finished the piece with 6mm clear acrylic, white aluminium composite backing and a concealed split-batten hanging system, creating a clean, modern display with a subtle floating appearance.

This project shows how maps, branded graphics and detailed corporate artwork can be transformed into polished large-format displays for offices and commercial interiors.

We recently helped Brisbane artist Lisa Taylor King transform two original 30 × 30 cm paintings into striking 120 × 120 cm canvas prints.

The project involved professional artwork scanning, careful colour-managed file preparation and print testing before we produced the final large-format canvases. This process allowed us to preserve the original colours, brushwork and expressive character while increasing each artwork to four times its original size.

The finished pieces show how professional artwork reproduction can give smaller paintings an entirely new presence without losing the qualities that make the originals distinctive.

Large Format Fine Art Printing and Custom Framing in Brisbane

This recent project is a great example of what can be achieved when large format printing and custom framing come together.

We reproduced a previously digitised abstract artwork at an impressive 2200 mm high × 1673 mm wide, printing the image onto a rigid aluminium composite panel before completing the piece with a custom timber frame.

The result is a striking statement artwork that retains the delicate line work, soft tonal transitions and vibrant colour of the original image, while giving the finished piece a clean, contemporary presentation.

At Prolab, we can manage the complete process, including artwork scanning, image preparation, large format printing, aluminium panel printing and custom framing.

Custom Arcade Topper Printing in Brisbane

We recently completed a custom Virtua Cop arcade topper for a client looking to recreate a classic retro gaming display piece.

The project combined artwork reproduction, direct printing onto clear acrylic, spot white ink, and precision laser cutting to create a shaped topper with a clean, arcade-style finish.

This type of work is a great example of how Prolab can help with custom acrylic printing, display fabrication, signage, and one-off specialist print projects.

Whether you need a replacement display panel, a custom sign, or a unique printed acrylic piece, our team can help guide the process from artwork preparation through to final production.

Recently, we had the pleasure of working with Stone Axe Pastoral Company on a custom artwork installation for their Brisbane office.

The project featured a striking three-panel landscape canvas installation alongside a large-format black-and-white bull portrait presented in a custom matte black floater frame. Together, the artworks create a strong connection to Stone Axe's pastoral heritage while complementing the contemporary design of their Fortitude Valley workspace.

For this project, our team assisted with artwork preparation, image cropping, large-format canvas printing, custom framing, and delivery, ensuring each piece was produced to suit the space perfectly.

We love seeing how thoughtfully selected artwork can transform a workplace, creating an environment that reflects a company's identity, culture, and story.

If you're planning an office fit-out, boardroom upgrade, reception area refresh, or commercial interior project, Prolab can help with custom canvas printing, acrylic displays, wall art production, and professional framing solutions.

We recently had the pleasure of working with François Detaille on his latest exhibition NATURE, now showing at Jan Manton Gallery in Teneriffe.

This project brought together a combination of large-scale gallery wrap canvas prints and SwissQ 3D metal prints, allowing each artwork to showcase incredible detail, depth, and colour. Every piece was carefully produced, stretched, and framed to ensure a consistent, gallery-quality finish across the entire exhibition.

We also produced a Phototex wall graphic for the entrance, helping set the scene and create a more immersive experience for visitors as they enter the space.

Opening night was a fantastic success, with a great turnout and strong interest in the work on display.

It’s always rewarding to collaborate closely with artists to help bring their vision to life—especially in a gallery setting where presentation is everything.

If you’re planning an exhibition or looking to elevate your artwork, feel free to reach out to our team.
