I’m delighted to share that I’ve been selected to join the 2026 Social Impact Fellowship with Social Impact Hub.

The Fellowship is a great opportunity to enhance my skills, expand my knowledge and strengthen my capability to create meaningful and sustainable social impact.

I’m looking forward to learning alongside other changemakers, gaining new perspectives and practical tools, expanding my professional networks, and further developing my leadership and impact practice.

I’m excited about the journey ahead and applying what I learn to my work with communities and organisations.

Today I facilitated the very first information session for the 'BML Transactional to Transformational Casework Management Framework'.

This framework supports organisations to shift from transactional, compliance‑driven oversight toward transformational, relational and culturally anchored leadership and practice. It has been developed to strengthen the cultural, relational and outcomes‑focused foundations of casework across government, ACCO and NGO sectors.

Its purpose is to:

• Improve outcomes for Aboriginal children, young people and families
• Strengthen cultural governance and cultural safety across systems
• Embed kinship, identity and community authority in decision‑making
• Lift leadership capability across sectors
• Support ACCO‑led pathways and community‑driven reform
• Reduce over‑representation in statutory systems

Five participants had registered and in the end one person was able to attend. Another sent an apology afterwards, sharing that they had tried to dial in but were unsuccessful.

A few years ago, I might have felt disappointed or questioned myself. But today, I stood firmly in the knowledge that one person is more than enough. One person willing to listen, learn and shift their practice that is how transformation begins.

After the session, the participant sent this message:

“Thank you for sharing all your valuable information and insight with me. It was an amazing presentation and I’m privileged to have been able to listen to it.”

That feedback alone lifted my spirit. It reminded me that impact isn’t measured by numbers, it’s measured by connection, resonance and the courage to keep showing up for our communities and culture.

A small beginning can still be a powerful one. And today was exactly that.

There is still time to register for the Free Transactional to Transformational Casework Management Program Information Session — and the only thing it will cost you is time. Registrations remain open until 9:00 AM, Tuesday 21 July 2026.

This Aboriginal-led program strengthens the capability of practitioners, leaders and organisations working with Aboriginal children, young people, families and carers across child protection, out of home care, family preservation, restoration, permanency support and related human services.

Participants will explore how transformational practice—grounded in Active Efforts, Aboriginal self determination, cultural authority, family led decision making, healing informed practice and organisational accountability—can shift outcomes and strengthen:

• Family engagement
• Cultural connection
• Restoration and permanency pathways
• Long term wellbeing for Aboriginal children and families

A powerful opportunity to rethink practice and deepen impact.

Registrations close tomorrow morning.

"Progress shaped by purpose, patience and self‑belief."

Yesterday marked six months, that's 181 days into founding BML Business Advisory Services and Organisational Development, I’m learning that building something meaningful takes patience, discipline and a willingness to back myself even when the steps feel small. I’ve been my own toughest critic, holding high expectations that push me forward.

In this short time, BML is getting runs on the board, grounded in more than four decades of experience across health, community development, organisational change and cultural governance. Its footprint is deliberate shaped by values, relational accountability and a commitment to strengthening organisations from the inside out.

I still don’t have a website yet, but it’s in the pipeline. What I do have is a clear vision, emerging partnerships and a foundation built on cultural integrity and purposeful work. These early months remind me that leadership is a steady build progress, presence and staying true to the reason I started.

What if casework moved beyond managing needs to creating lasting change?

Too often, casework becomes focused on transactions—meeting immediate needs, completing referrals and closing tasks.

But lasting outcomes are achieved through relationships, cultural responsiveness, shared decision-making and practice that empowers children, families and communities.

Join me for a FREE Online Information Session exploring the Transactional to Transformational Casework Management Framework an Aboriginal-led framework designed to strengthen culturally responsive, relationship-based and outcomes-focused casework.

Together we'll explore:

✅ Moving from transactional to transformational practice
✅ Active efforts and Aboriginal self-determination
✅ Restoration, permanency and family-led decision-making
✅ Meaningful participation of children and families
✅ Leadership, governance and organisational accountability
✅ Practical tools to strengthen practice and improve outcomes

Whether you work in child and family services, community services, government, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, education, health or the not-for-profit sector, this session will provide practical insights you can apply in your everyday practice.
