🤔 so this ram had 55mm of rain on him this week, has a twin ewe sister with near identical asbvs. He’s got something really going on. Not that long ago this type of wool and skin was always strongly negative YEMD & YFAT. Data is in the photos.

The first lambs out of the 2025 drop ewes, very exciting times, 80% conception from ewes joined. So 6 ewes have dropped lambs in the first day with 8 lambs at foot. This is one part of the equation of joining ewe lambs. The next is getting a successful joining in early December.

Got home around midnight pretty tired , but what a day at the Keith show ground, a big enthusiastic crowd and well done to all involved!
Every type of SA Merino on display with many studs now exhibiting data 📈 . Things are on the move and looking good.

Well I can’t remember getting a a season break this early, always a bit sceptical. But with the follow up rain received there’s a good chance this grass will get through to winter rain. These young “natural breached “M/June 2025 drop rams making the most of it, showing extreme width of spine , true early growth with white wools still, after weeks of high humidity and warm weather. Not 1 fly strike without any chemical weapons.

Many thanks Rachel , getting the job done all over SA and interstate. Some potential for this young ram. Good tip with no obvious conformation faults. 🤞. Group 2025 may june drop mixed s*x ,average raw data.
