⚡ Spots are filling, the battery rebate is dropping again.

We have had a strong response to our Home Solar & Battery Info Nights, with good reason. The next one is coming up in 2 weeks!

The Federal Government battery rebate is scheduled to reduce on the 1st of January 2027. Your rebate is determined by the date your battery is installed, not when you place your order.

Installer queues can build quickly, so don’t wait until the end of the year to start asking questions.

Come along and find out:

• How home batteries work
• What rebates are currently available
• Which battery size might suit your home
• What you need to do before the next rebate reduction

📅 Thursday 17 September 2026 at 6pm
📍 PSD Showroom, Unit 7/3 Brown Street, Kiama
🍕 Free pizza
🎟 Free entry, RSVP essential

Secure your spot at the event and get ahead of the battery installation queue.

⚡ PSD LEADING THE WAY IN KIAMA ⚡

Another exciting milestone for Platinum Solar Designs, delivering what we believe to be one of the first residential DC fast-charging installations in Kiama.

This home is now equipped with a Sungrow IDC 60 – 60kW DC fast charger, bringing commercial-level EV charging capability into a residential environment.

But this project goes even further.

The vehicle at this property has also been involved in some of the early V2X approvals through a Sigenergy system — technology that represents the next generation of energy management, where compatible electric vehicles have the potential to become an active part of the home and wider energy ecosystem.

Government support for businesses transitioning to EVs

The NSW Government is currently supporting eligible businesses through its EV Fleets Incentive – Kick-start Funding, helping businesses transition their vehicles and charging infrastructure to electric. (NSW Government)

For eligible applicants, the current FY26 program can provide support for both battery electric vehicles and smart charging infrastructure.

Importantly, eligible DC chargers up to 60kW can receive funding of 50% of eligible costs, up to $30,000 per charging port. (NSW Government)

For businesses operating fleets, trade vehicles, delivery vehicles or other commercial vehicles, this creates a significant opportunity to start moving away from fuel while installing the charging infrastructure required for the future.

At PSD, we’re not just installing solar and batteries — we’re working across the complete energy ecosystem:

Solar • Battery Storage • EV Fast Charging • Smart Energy Management • V2X

From residential homes through to commercial fleets, the way we generate, store and use energy is changing rapidly.

Once again, PSD is proud to be leading the way and bringing the latest energy technology to the South Coast. ⚡🔋🚗

Government funding is subject to eligibility criteria, program conditions and available funding.

🏆 A Proud Moment for Our Team. A Local Installation, National Recognition by a Global Brand!

This month, one of our recent Tesla Powerwall installations was featured in Tesla Australia's installer newsletter as Installation of the Month.

While we are incredibly proud of the installation itself, what makes this recognition special is what it represents.

Platinum Solar Designs started as a small family business with a simple goal, do quality work, look after people, and build a reputation we are proud of.

Over the years we have grown, but those values haven't changed.

To have our work again recognised by Tesla, one of the world's leading energy and technology companies, is a wonderful acknowledgement of the effort our entire team puts into every project.

For us, it's never been about simply installing solar panels or batteries. It's about delivering an end result that we would be happy to have on our own homes.

A huge thank you to our team, who take enormous pride in their workmanship every day, and to our customers who continue to trust, support and refer our local family-owned business.

We recently attended SNEC 2026 in Shanghai, one of the world’s largest and most influential solar and energy exhibitions.
The event showcased an impressive range of innovations from leading brands that are well established within the Australian market, including Sungrow, Sigenergy, GoodWe, Aiko and Trina and many more. It was encouraging to see the continued investment these manufacturers are making in advancing renewable energy technologies and product performance.
One particularly interesting development was seeing Clenergy, a highly respected and recommended manufacturer of racking and mounting solutions, expanding its focus into the battery storage sector. This demonstrates the growing convergence of solar, storage and energy management technologies.
GoodWe also drew attention with its sleek all-black heat pump range, highlighting the increasing emphasis on both performance and product aesthetics.
What stood out most, however, was the rapid advancement of Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), along with coloured solar panels and custom frame solutions. These technologies are opening new possibilities for architects, builders and homeowners who want renewable energy systems to integrate seamlessly into building design.
China continues to lead the world in solar innovation and manufacturing, and the technologies on display clearly demonstrated the pace at which the industry is evolving. It also highlighted how much opportunity remains for markets such as Australia to adopt and implement these emerging solutions.
Another standout innovation was the increasing use of large drones for commercial solar installations. Several exhibitors demonstrated heavy-lift drone technology capable of transporting and positioning solar panels onto rooftops, significantly improving safety and efficiency on large-scale commercial projects. As labour shortages and workplace safety requirements continue to shape the industry, these technologies could play an important role in streamlining rooftop solar installations in the future.

We recently had the privilege of completing a VIP factory tour of Sungrow’s global headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Shanghai.

Unlike a standard group tour, this private experience provided our team with a unique opportunity to gain deeper insights into Sungrow’s operations, innovation processes, and future product roadmap. We were fortunate to preview a range of exciting new technologies and solutions that are expected to enter the market later this year.

As an installer, it’s incredibly valuable to see firsthand the level of investment, engineering, quality control, and research that goes into developing the products we recommend to our customers every day.

A sincere thank you to Sungrow for their hospitality, transparency, and for making this exclusive experience possible. The tour reinforced why Sungrow continues to be a global leader in renewable energy technology and energy storage solutions.

We’re excited about what’s coming and look forward to bringing these next-generation products and innovations to our customers as they become available.

From May 1st, the federal battery rebate is reducing — but it’s not all bad news.

While incentives are slightly lower, the program is still in place and continues to support homeowners investing in battery storage.

The big win?
Tesla Powerwall 3 customers are protected from the impact 👇

✔️ $750 back on 1 Powerwall
✔️ $1,500 back on 2 Powerwalls

Tesla has stepped in to help offset the rebate drop — meaning real-world pricing stays very similar.

💡 Bottom line:
The rebate may be changing… but the value of battery storage hasn’t.
