Well, this is a little nasty. Have you seen this?

I popped into Claude today to be met with a notification that fable was unavailable and a "learn more" link to find out why.

It appears the US Govt still have their nose out of joint with Anthropic and it's payback time.

Even though fable is new, where does that leave those of us who are diving deep into Claude right now?

Do we spread our risk across tools?

And is it a sign of things to come?

Should we be worried?

Then they quibble over the fee. The fee they agreed to!

- "You filled that role way too quickly to justify the fee."
- "They were just sitting on your database."
- "You found them on LinkedIn."
- Or the one I love: "I'm already connected to them on LinkedIn."

What's really happening? They're saying you didn't earn the fee because the πŸ’ͺ effort wasn't visible.

πŸ”Š And AI is making that conversation louder.

Here’s what I see happening in so many businesses right now... especially since the tidal wave of AI.

You hit a challenge. Let's use BD as the example.

πŸ‘€ You look for a solution.
πŸ”Ž You find one. Yes!
⚑ You get excited.
πŸƒβ€β™€οΈβ€βž‘οΈ You start.
πŸ₯± You hit the wall - Stuck. Bored. Over it.
πŸ—‘οΈ You bin it.
πŸ‘€ And you start looking again.

I see this way too often... and the real shame here is it's costing people results they were this close to getting.

Hitting the wall isn't a sign to try something else. It's a sign your close.

During the gold rush, a man drilled for weeks, hit a vein, then lost it. Broke and done, he sold everything to a junk dealer for a few hundred dollars.

The dealer commissioned an engineer who discovered the previous owner had stopped three feet from where the vein picked back up.

The vein didn't disappear. They just stopped digging.

As the saying goes "Starting is easy, it's continuing that's hard"

I recently started back at the πŸ’ͺ πŸ‹β€β™€οΈ gym (OK just 2 days ago!) and right now I'm really excited to be there.

But! I know there'll be times when I miss a day or two.

That doesn't really matter. What matters is that I go back.

How many times have you got excited about something and then at some point missed a day and stopped altogether.

You made yourself a promise to do something everyday for a year and on week 3 you missed a day and you threw in the towel. 😲

- Missing a day in week 3 doesn't matter.
- It's not going back for week 4 that does.
- That's where you win.

My goal is to go to the gym 4-5 times a week.

And if I miss a week?

Doesn't matter. I'll pick it back up the next week and keep going.

What's one thing you could pick up again. Something you were dead set on doing and gave up when you missed a beat?

Most recruitment founders believe they have a lead problem.

They don't, they have a systems problem.

A lead problem means the market is against you.
- The economy.
- Restrictive PSLs
- Timing

A system problem means bottlenecks slowing results.

That's not a dig.

That's just what happens when you don't have systems supporting you.

I've seen it a thousand times. Literally. A thousand founders+

You finish a big placement, come up for air, look at your pipeline and realise... there's nothing in it.

So you panic post on LinkedIn.
Look for a BD AI tool.
Send a few DMs.
Maybe cold call a ton of people in desperation.

Then another req comes in and BD goes straight back in the bottom drawer.
Rinse. Repeat.
Wonder why revenue is all over the place.

New client growth doesn't fail because you're bad at it.
It fails because you're a busy human who needs a system to support you.

Motivation isn't enough.

πŸ‘ The fix isn't complicated though.

βœ… It's a 3 step system
1. Attention
2. Conversation
3. Conversion.

Nothing converts without attention AND a conversation.
No brief.
No placement.

The good news is you already have more potential clients than you think.

They're hidden in plain sight in the network you've spent years building.

I see it all the time with recruitment founders. Busy, capable, working hard - but the sequence is off and the result suffer.

- Hiring before your delivery is solid.
- Adding tools before you have a strategy.
- Scaling before you've actually proven anything works.

It feels productive. But it's a bit like building the roof before the walls.
