Rolling out across Wellington Shire are:

Transfer station attendant
Casual (19 hours a week), Hourly, $30 - $50

This versatile role will involve operating machinery, assisting/serving customers, maintaining the facility including litter clean up and any other odd jobs that may require attention while ensuring a safe and environmentally friendly operation. This position requires customer service skills, the ability to work independently or part of a team, recording of transactions and money handling.
Basic cash handling experience is required for this role.

🔥 Safety Closure: Heyfield Transfer Station 🔥

Due to the extreme fire danger and high temperatures forecast for tomorrow (17 February 2026), the Heyfield Transfer Station will be closed for the day. This step is part of our Emergency Management Plan to keep our staff and community safe in high‑risk conditions.

✅ Based on current forecasts, the site is expected to reopen as normal on Thursday. We’ll share updates if anything changes.
