Can AI do your HR? Interesting question. So far, the answer I keep getting is that AI is a very useful tool for managing the transactional side of business. I use AI for back-room workflow processes in my business and to offer new onboarding/employee management systems to my clients.

Mind you, I am still testing and learning about AI's limitations. At the moment, AI is not the panacea for replacing me as a business owner, HR advisor or leadership mentor - just yet!

When it comes to helping business owners with employee-related issues, AI is helpful at the transactional level: researching, gathering and processing data to get better information for better decisions, and putting written words together (when you know what you want written).

However, being there for a business owner who is stressed about their employee comes from knowing that employees and business owners are human and complex humans at that. We all take in, process information, and make decisions differently - we also learn differently, have our own backstory and different nature/nurture influences.

So, for now, we still have the "Human" in HR, "People" in "People and Culture", and the "Leader" in Leadership. AI does not take the stress out of running a business, nor does it turn human employees into transactional robots.

Even if you have fewer employees, you still need to know how best to manage, lead, and support them. You still have to find them, recruit and onboard them, keep them motivated, productive and safe. You still need to 'do the right thing', be lawfully compliant, keep the good ones while dealing with those who don't fit into your business.

AI is now giving HR professionals more tools to support business owners. I suggest business owners lean in and ask your HR consultant how you can benefit from that!

With soil across Eyre Peninsula now very-much softened up after autumn and winter rain, it can be an ideal time to think about revegetation including re-establishing native trees, shrubs, ground-cover species or grasses.

๐ŸŒฑ See our revegetation fact sheet which explains 3 main revegetation techniques, site preparation and follow-up maintenance ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://bit.ly/EPreveg.

How exciting to find out today, during our first Winter Garden Week tour, that Eyre Business has been awarded a grant from Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board through the Grass Roots Program.
The grant will go towards developing our existing shed, right amongst our newly established native and sensory garden (also funded with support from the Grass Roots Grant and local volunteers and service providers) - a propagation hub that will be shared with the community. As well fitting out infrastructure we will be looking to collaborate with locals and bring in outside knowledge, running workshops, giveaways and public activities.
Congratulations also to the Kimba AH&F Show committee for also receiving a grant.
The success of today's tour strongly supports these type of activities in Kimba and we look forward to the coming year.
A huge thank you to those who braved the wintery weather with us and those who all gave up their time to share their stories with our group.
