Our Director, Michael, is once again preparing for the annual Save Our Sons Charity Walk in Perth from 5–8 March.💙

He’ll be joining an incredible team to walk 100km to raise vital awareness and funds in the fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

This marks the 11th year of dedication to this cause. To date, Save Our Sons has helped place specialist nurses in major hospitals, supported families with essential equipment and care, and funded ongoing medical research and trials — all for the hundreds of boys still waiting for a cure.

If you’d like to support Michael and this important cause, please consider donating via the link below. Every contribution makes a difference.

PROJECTS | WASHINGTON PARK

Looking back at this remarkable project as it stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation in urban development. Completed through the joint efforts of , State and Local Government, designed by and built by , this transformative project not only revitalised a community but also set a precedent for combining privately owned dwellings and social housing seamlessly. A project we at JAPM are very proud to have been apart of.

Washington Park is a harmonious blend of privately owned dwellings and social housing units, carefully integrated to create a diverse and inclusive community. A bold endeavor to replace housing with a visionary approach that prioritised both social integration and community living.

The success of Washington Park lies not only in its physical structures but also in the social fabric it has woven. By intertwining privately owned dwellings with social housing units, the project has broken down barriers and disproven preconceived notions about the incompatibility of these two housing types. Instead, it has showcased that a well-designed, inclusive community can thrive when diversity is embraced.

Washington Park serves as a living example of how collaboration between private developers, government agencies, and local councils can bring about transformative change. It demonstrates that when these entities work together with a shared vision, they can create sustainable, vibrant, and socially inclusive neighborhoods that benefit everyone involved.

R U OK?

On this RUOKDay, let's acknowledge the importance of asking, "R U OK?" and remember that this question goes beyond boundaries and industries, however, did you know in Australia, construction workers face unique mental health challenges:

🔺 Construction workers are six times more likely to die from su***de than workplace accidents.
🔺 Young construction workers are more than two times more likely to take their own lives than other young Australian men.

These statistics are a harsh reminder of the mental health crisis in the construction industry. The relentless demands, pressures, and uncertainties can take a heavy toll on their well-being, especially among the younger generation.

The following four steps can guide you when initiating such a conversation:
1. Ask: Begin by asking the simple yet profound question, "R U OK?"
2. Listen: Give them your full attention and let them express their feelings and thoughts without judgment.
3. Encourage Action: Suggest practical steps or actions that can help them improve their mental well-being.
4. Check-In: It's important to follow up and continue the conversation.

On this R U OK? Day, let's not only raise awareness but also actively engage in conversations about mental health. By doing so, we can create a more compassionate and empathetic society, reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues, and save lives in the process.
