I did a reel on this last week, and then realised it's probably disappeared to where ever old reels go to die šŸ˜‚. So I'm sharing again and I'd love it if you or someone you know could hep out!

I'm doing some market research interviews so I can create content that actually helps businesses dealing with the ups and downs of seasonal income. Can you help me?

I would love to speak to you if:
- You run a cafe, retail shop, agritourism or service business in a regional area where the busy season carries the quiet one
- You work hard through your busy season and somehow still feel like you are playing catch-up by the time the quiet hits
- Cashflow is manageable when the town is busy but the quiet months still keep you awake at night wondering how you will cover the bills

It’s just a few short, simple questions in a relaxed 30 minute Zoom chat. In return I will offer you a complimentary 30 minute one-on-one session as a thank you for your time.

Comment below or send me a DM if this sounds like you.

Thank you!

Here are a few things I want more rural business owners to know.

🌿 Profit isn’t greedy. It’s what gives you choices, breathing room and resilience in business. You are allowed to build a business that pays you properly.

🌿 When rural businesses thrive, everyone benefits. Families feel it. Communities feel it. That’s a big part of why this work matters so much to me.

🌿 I also believe money management is a skill, not a personality trait. No one should feel embarrassed for not being taught the tools they needed.

Anyway… just a few thoughts I wanted to share today. Hopefully there’s something in here that resonates with you too.

And if you’d like my free Cashflow, Profit & Money Mindset checklist, comment ā€œMINDSETā€ and I’ll send it through

Hey look… it’s me šŸ˜…

Still slightly surreal seeing my face on a Profit First poster.

A little reminder too that there are only a small handful of Certified Profit First Professionals in Australia, and I’m very proud to be one of them.

This month I’ve spoken a lot about systems, routines and reducing mental load in business. But lately I’ve been thinking about it from a different angle too…

What would happen if you suddenly couldn’t be in your business for a while? Would someone know where to find passwords, client info, banking details or recurring tasks? Or does most of it currently live in your head?

It’s something I’ve been reminded of recently after one of my clients received some unexpected health news completely out of the blue.

And like so many small business owners, when she stops… the business stops too. It’s such a common thing in small business. We become the system.

But even small things like:

• writing down recurring tasks
• using a password manager
• having clear bookkeeping systems
• or letting one trusted person know where things are

can make a huge difference if life suddenly changes.

Might be something worth thinking about this week… even if it’s just taking one small step to help make things easier for the people around you in an emergency.

Is what I’m sharing actually what you need right now? Instead of wondering I’d love to hear about what would be useful to you

Reading the Profit First book genuinely changed the way I looked at money in business.

It completely changed how I manage cash flow, pay myself, plan for tax and make decisions in business. And ultimately, it’s what led me to becoming a Profit First Professional too.

Is there a book that changed something for you in business or life?

Business owner life can feel overwhelming at times. I feel it, my clients feel it… we all do sometimes.

These are the kinds of things I often find myself saying to clients when they’re feeling overwhelmed in business:

• You do not have to fix everything today
• One small step still counts
• Done is better than perfect
• Stop trying to hold everything in your head
• Most money stress comes from avoiding the thing, not the thing itself
• If everything feels urgent, start with the thing that affects cash flow first

Will this advice magically fix everything overnight? Nope.

But sometimes people don’t need a complete overhaul. They just need help taking the next step so things feel a little less stressful and a little less stuck.

Behind Nourish Your Numbers is a small team that genuinely cares about helping business owners feel less stressed about their finances.

There’s Tracy - Rural Money Coach, BAS Agent, Profit First Mastery member, early morning coffee drinker and happiest either in the garden, down at the beach or deep in a client’s numbers.

And Dan - Client Support Bookkeeper, dedicated tennis player, keeper of a small but very opinionated flock of chickens, and usually the person spotting the thing everyone else missed.

Together we help rural and regional business owners with bookkeeping, BAS, cash flow support, Profit First, EOFY prep and creating simple systems that make business feel a bit easier to manage.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed with the money side of business lately, feel free to get in touch for a chat.

I get asked this a lot… ā€œHow do I know if my Profit First percentages are actually working?ā€

And the honest answer is… you can usually feel it.

When they’re working, things just feel a bit easier. Tax is sitting there when you need it, you’re able to pay yourself more consistently, and you’re not overthinking every decision.

When they’re not, it shows pretty quickly. Things feel tight, you’re dipping into accounts you shouldn’t be, or avoiding allocations because you already know it’s not going to work.

That’s usually your sign something needs adjusting.

One thing I always remind clients is that your percentages aren’t set and forget. They change as your business changes.

Next time you do your allocation, a simple question to ask is: ā€œCould I keep doing this for the next few months?ā€

If the answer is no, that’s a good place to start tweaking things.
