Moreton Bay council tip changes, explained ๐
Council has voted to reduce the free landfill disposal limit at its tips. Here's what that means for you:
๐
Now: 3 tonnes or 26 visits a year per property
๐
From July 2027: 2.5 tonnes or 20 visits
๐
From July 2030: 1 tonne or 10 visits
Council expects around 94% of households to stay under the new limits, and recycling drop-off stays free.
A few ways to make your free allowance go further:
โป๏ธ Sort out your recyclables first. Council audits found about 30% of an average tip load could be recycled
๐ Fill each trip properly rather than doing lots of small runs
And when the job's too big for the trailer, that's where we come in ๐
๐ A skip bin doesn't use up any of your free tip allowance
๐ฟ Green waste? Our budget bins take garden waste for less than general waste
๐ Clean-outs, renos, yard jobs: bins from 2mยณ delivered across Moreton Bay
