Testiomonial Tuesday's are probably one of our favourite posts to create. The feeling we are met with, when scrolling through the lovely words of our clients, really reminds us how important our work is.

Buying a new home can be incredibly stressful, especially if you're already in the midst of packing, organising removalists, reviewing school catchments, or navigating your new travel time.

Being able to be involved and assist our clients through this stressful time is an honour. We are the local inspectors that you can rely on to always have the best interests of you, and your family at heart.

A really important tip from the QBCC, let the weekends rain be a reminder to maintain your roof ⬇️

In some cases, this is due to defective building work, but often leaks are caused by lack of maintenance and cleaning.

Here are some tips to help you maintain your roof:

βœ… Make sure the gutters are cleaned regularly and in good condition.
βœ… Check for any broken tiles or flashing that might be allowing water into your home.
βœ… Inspect your roof regularly for signs of wear and tear, such as missing or loose tiles and cracked or broken flashing.

What plumbing problems could a building inspection uncover? πŸ€”

It's easy to think of building and plumbing as two seperate matters, when the truth is that they go hand in hand.

Some typical plumbing problems that come up during inspections are:
πŸ’§ DIY or unsatisfactory plumbing work - we're all for budgets, but some things really are better left to the professionals
πŸ’§ Leaking or evidence of water damage - we keep an eye out for things like - mould growth, soft skirting, swollen timber, discolouration to the ceiling, or damp carpet
πŸ’§ Faulty hot water systems. Hot water systems are generally expected to last around 8 to 12 years, so it's important to ensure that you're not investing in a costly expense straight off the bat.

Have you experienced any of these issues in a new home? Tell us in the comments below! πŸ‘‡
