Armstead Estate is a boutique winery centrally located within the Heathcote Wine Region, on the northern banks of Lake Eppalock. Our unique, 16-year-old vineyard is on an easterly facing slope, over a shallow strip of Cambrian soil, just metres from the lake. Our wines include Rose, Marsanne, Chardonnay, Sparkling Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Reserve Shiraz. Armstead is owned and operate

d by us - Emily & Tom - who have a passion for wine and appetite for adventure. Armstead was founded by Peter and Sharon Armstead in 2003, when our lakeside Shiraz vineyard was planted by hand with the help of good friends. Whilst waiting for the vines to grow, Peter sourced premium fruit across the Heathcote Wine Region, continually sourcing different varieties from premium growers to make his wines truly remarkable. We source extraordinary fruit from premium growers throughout the Heathcote region, carefully developing each varietal’s individual regional flavour. We aim for precise and authentic wines, following the principles of minimal intervention. Our wines are handcrafted, fruit driven and elegant, exhibiting full flavours and Cambrian characteristics, which are unique to the Heathcote Terroir. Check out our website for more information (armsteadestate.com.au) and if you have any questions, please email us at [email protected] or phone us on 0448 888 803. Our Story

Armstead Estate Vineyard is centrally located within the Heathcote Wine Region on the banks of Lake Eppalock. We are a small boutique winery dedicated to producing moderate quantities of premium quality wines. Our wines include Sparkling Shiraz, Rosé, Marsanne, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz. Peter Armstead, the original owner & winemaker, planted the first Shiraz vines in 2003 by hand in just one weekend with the help of good friends. The vineyard is on an Easterly facing slope over a shallow strip of Cambrian soil just metres from the Lake, which now looks very picturesque as the Lake is almost full. While waiting for our vines to produce, we sourced great fruit from premium growers in the Heathcote region and got started straight away, working with experienced, award winning winemakers from the area to make our Roxy’s Paddock Shiraz and our Lakeside Marsanne.

In July 2017, Tom & Emily took over Armstead Estate. Continuing in Peter’s footsteps, Tom & Emily make all of the wines with the principles of minimal intervention, and dedication to producing the varietal’s unique regional flavour. Our Cellar Door is situated on the historic 1860s property of Wild Duck Farm, and it is in the old Foreman’s cottage, which still retains its rustic charm. We showcase all of our wines as well as local produce and preserves. A wine tasting can be enjoyed on the verandah of the Cellar Door while enjoying the delightful view of the Lake and the grounds or in front of the blazing log fire on a cold winters day. Bring your own picnic lunch and buy a glass or a bottle of wine to have with it on the grounds overlooking the Lake. We also welcome bus tours and social groups. Give us a call or an email first so that we can properly arrange a great visit for you. Browse our website for more information about Armstead Estate wines.
