Today we heard the news that one of our long time reps had passed away. Greg was a larger than life character in many ways an avid cow man and nothing was ever a trouble. Always a friendly smile with that loud laugh following shortly after. Deepest thoughts go out to Payton and his family and friends RIP Greg
Vale – Greg Tiller
All at Genetics Australia mourn the passing of a great work colleague and friend in the passing of Greg Tiller.
Greg gave lifelong service to the dairy cattle breeding industry and was highly respected by all that knew and worked with him.
Originally from South Australia, Greg grew up with dairying in his veins. He quickly appreciated that cattle breeding was his passion and in August 2003 Greg joined Genetics Australia as a Field Sales representative and relocated to Rochester in Northern Victoria. Greg loved talking genetics and gained a good understanding of not only what type of cow was needed in Australia but how local and international genetics would work best. He gained the respect of both commercial, stud breeders and competitors, not only in his local region but by many across the country.
His contribution during his time at the cooperative was highly valued and his passion, strong opinions and work ethic gained him a great deal of respect by the wider industry and his determination was as strong as ever at the time of his passing.
Greg passed away on the 20th August 2023, just a few days short of his 20 year milestone working for the cooperative. His contribution was significant, and he will be sadly missed.
All our thoughts and prayers go to Payton, his much loved and admired daughter and Greg’s broader family.
