Comb Back Rocking Chair Class- CANCELLED.
Well, that’s the last of them. This ends my teaching schedule for 2021.
It also concludes my chairmaking classes/business for the foreseeable future.
The continued unfathomable restrictions we have endured in Victoria has meant potential students from Metro Melbourne and interstate cannot participate in my classes.
I officially end my lease at the workshop in Kyneton on December 1.
Thanks to everyone who has supported our chairmaking business to this point.
I’ll post a few pictures of the remaining commissions I have for the year as they are completed & then I’ll be taking a break from this account.
Thanks

After a long while in storage in the old workshop, Tom & I bought this Australian made Parken Drill Press home today and installed it in the workshop.
Bought years ago from an Army auction, it’s in pristine condition and the Albrecht keyless chuck is a huge bonus.
Ironic that it had an Army sticker on it when purchased that said in bold “FOR SCRAP ONLY.”
Best recycling I’ve ever done.

Lise wove the seat for me last night. It’s padded too.
No.1 of many more to come I’d say.

New Rural. Ingrid Weir’s beautiful new book, arrived in the mail yesterday.
We were honoured to be a part of this thoughtfully written and beautifully photographed insight into some of rural Australia’s most beautiful towns and regions and the wonderful things you’ll find there.
Thank you Ingrid, I don’t think our kitchen has ever looked better!

Chris- came down from Queensland at the start of the year for our Sackback chair course & made this terrific Sackback chair. He also took home a pack of materials to make another chair.
Which chair did he make in my class?? I have no idea. It speaks volumes.
But I do know that seeing people continue to make chairs, great chairs, after they leave my workshop, is the very reason I do what I do.
Great work Chris .
