Has your clipper stopped working as efficiently as it used to? Chances are it needs a service, but there’s also a chance it needs compacted hair removed from either side of the blade drive. A build up of hair like this can prevent the blade drive from pushing your cutter correctly. Brush, pluck or blow hair out regularly to prevent this.

An interesting piece regarding lead levels in cheaper copies of popular items. I’ve sharpened a few of the cheaper clipper blades people have purchased through AliExpress and Temu and have found lead in them with my lead test kit in the past.

Have a think about the savings as opposed to the potential cost to the health of you, and the animals you work around.

My policy is if I test unknown or knock off brands and discover lead, I will refuse to work on the item.

This AI image doesn’t exactly represent the pile of work I have at the moment, but I do have a large amount in which is affecting turnaround times. A longer warm spell running into the start of horse clipping has created a backlog. At this stage if you haven’t already messaged me about having work done I likely won’t be able to get it started until early next week.
