Rare was proud to sponsor the Local Government Professionals Tasmania Conference 2025, held in Devonport under the theme “Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders Today.”

The event brought together local government leaders, industry experts, and partners to share insights on innovation, leadership, and the future of councils across Tasmania. Our Rare representatives, including Daniel Ford, Adam Seaton and Jordan Quaile attended to connect with the local government professionals and support the sector throughout the day.

Congratulations to Local Government Professionals - Tasmania on delivering a successful event, and thank you for bringing together such an engaging program. We are committed to partnering with local government and delivering projects that create lasting impact across the state.

Rare was proud to support renowned Tasmanian artist Amanda Parer on her installation "Man", which was showcased at Melbourne’s Firelight Festival in early July.

Towering at 12 metres tall and perched on a pontoon in Victoria Harbour, "Man" was a striking illuminated figure inspired by Rodin’s "The Thinker", designed to provoke reflection on humanity’s place in the natural world.

Rare’s Infrastructure Structural Division engineered the restraint system that kept this monumental inflatable safely in place, despite the dynamic waterfront environment. This was our first project with Amanda, whose globally exhibited work continues to captivate audiences.

The Firelight Festival attracted over 80,000 visitors across the weekend, making it one of Melbourne’s standout winter events.

Rare is proud to have contributed to the successful completion of a new clearwater storage tank at St Marys, delivered by TasWater as part of its ongoing Regional Towns Water Supply Improvement program to upgrade water supply infrastructure across Tasmania.

The new 350KL concrete tank is designed for a 100-year lifespan, ensuring reliable, long-term water storage for the local community. Rare completed the structural design for the tank, supporting resilient and sustainable infrastructure outcomes.

Congratulations to TasWater on this milestone! We look forward to seeing the remaining tanks come to life to improve the water services of regional towns across Tasmania.
