It's been 3 years since Charlotte left Launceston to chase her theatre dream to study at the acclaimed Queensland Academy of Excellence in Musical Theatre (previously the Queensland Conservatorium).

While she already had a degree in marketing before starting at Effective, Charlotte continued to do the hard yards and has graduated from QAEMT in 2023.

She has now landed her first professional role in Sunset Boulevard starring some massive names such as Sarah Brightman!

It will show in Melbourneโ€™s Princess Theatre and the Sydney Opera House.

Over the last 12 months, we've made changes well beyond our normal product and service evolution. These changes are great for our clients, but they also better support the lifestyles of each of us within the Effective business.

For 15 years, we created our own model of client-centred brand agency. Part of that included some relatively large office space. It was important at the time, but with remote work, it was being used less and less, so in March last year, we closed it, and no one noticed.

Times change.

The needs of each client have become more and more unique, and a one-size-fits-all set of systems was no longer in anyone's best interests. Our Effective digital performance clients (who we still love!) are being transitioned to Matt and Sean as they build their respective businesses (Doozy Digital and Digital Bias) and continue to be part of the Effective collective.

We wanted to plan out a win-win for everyone. And we're close to the tail end of the transition now - the refreshed logo is the icing on a fresh cake.

The new 'collective' model is more fulfilling, allowing us to work at a higher strategic level, be a leaner business, be more responsive to rapidly shifting trends with expanded access to expertise (even if that sits in another agency) and have less competing demands for our time.

There's one other key benefit: I (Rick) have been able to wind back from 70-80 hour weeks from past years to a few days per week after almost 30 years in business. It gives me time and headspace to immerse myself in the type of collaborative strategic growth of clients I love so much, leaving some time to focus on other passion projects or the basics like meditation and gardening!

At Effective, we help our clients grow their ideal audience, stay lean, keep focus, optimise their brand experience, increase yield, and achieve their desired life goals. Those deliverables will be even sharper now that we're focusing deeper on fewer clients rather than spreading ourselves across many.

We're not actively seeking new clients. If we're asked, and I can bring together the best collective for their project with a genuine passion for what they're doing, we'll consider it. If it doesn't fill my soul, then the project is best with someone else.

Our community support will still quietly continue as it always has.

Cheerio to an incredible 15 years, and may every experience, lesson, and conversation we've ever had drive the success of those we work with for years to come. Thanks to everyone who has been part of our journey so far.

If you're seeing these posts, please don't participate. Remember the saying โ€œif it seems too good to be trueโ€ฆ?โ€

There are no cabins, no Rangers, no Hiluxes.

So, what can you look for?

1. An official tick beside the page name (for big brands), if not.โ€ฆ
2. Click the page heading and look at the page, are there enough posts across a long period of time to look legit?
3. Are there spelling mistakes?
4. Ask yourself, โ€œwhy would they just give it away if it had a scratch?โ€

If you do fall for it, be very wary of further approaches. You may be seen by the scammer as a soft touch, ie likely to fall for other requests.

Hereโ€™s how participating in these scam posts could turn from harmless to harmful ๐Ÿ‘‡
1. They have your name and entry so the page may message you with a โ€œlinkโ€ to claim your prize.
2. That link may run code or it may ask for enough info to claim your prize but it's actually enough info for them to steal part of your identity, gain access to your profile or sell your info.

Be vigilant and help prevent these from going too far by reporting them with the options at the top right side of the scam postโ€ฆ

A heads up on this scam.

If you receive an email like this, DO NOT click the link. It's not actually from Meta (Facebook + Instagram + WhatsApp).

You will also notice that the โ€œMeta Businessโ€ address is a long one including Salesforce in the domain (but not actually a Salesforce domain). Meta is a partner with Salesforce but emails, even if they were using it for customer communications, do not include Salesforce in them.

To consider the warning appropriately, if you get this email - go to your Meta Business Manager on your browser, and check for warnings or account quality. Do not click the link to get you there!

If there are no warnings, then you know 100% the email was a scam and you can get on with your day. For the glass half full people, while this is a waste of time, it does encourage you to check your Account Quality! ๐Ÿคฉ

Good marketing is delivered at the right time, to the right people, in the right method with the intent to create a positive emotion.

This is either a coincidence or very smart forward planning. On the same afternoon that the Reserve Bank lifted interest rates again, St.LukesHealth send out an email to say โ€œwe understand and weโ€™re deferring your premiumโ€.

Itโ€™s also a move to offset anyone who may, today, be thinking of dropping private health to pay their mortgage.

I mean, it might have just been a well-timed coincidence but either way it lands positively on a day where some people will really feel the brunt or at the very least go โ€œbetter tighten that belt a little moreโ€.
