Launnie, you've done it again! 🎉

12,000,000 containers processed! 🤯

We were going to play it cool about this one, but honestly, how can you when Launceston has just helped us reach Twelve Million containers through City Mission's Recycle Rewards Depot in Waverley! 🙌

Take a moment to think about that. Twelve Million cans, bottles and cartons that have made their way through our depot, all thanks to people across Launceston and surrounding communities getting behind us ♻️

And that's what we love most about this achievement. It's not just the number on the counter, it's the people behind it. The locals who keep coming back, the businesses and clubs getting involved, the families teaching their kids about recycling, and the incredible team at Waverley making it all happen 💛

And there's an even bigger reason to celebrate. Every container returned through our depot helps generate funds for City Mission's work supporting people and families across the North and North West, while giving valuable materials another life. That's a pretty amazing outcome from something as simple as returning your recycling👏

So Launnie, give yourselves a massive pat on the back. We're incredibly grateful you've chosen to support City Mission, and we're proud to be part of a community that continues to show up for each other 🫶

He came to return cans. He found a job, and a community ♻️

When Mason first visited our Waverley Recycle Rewards depot, he was simply returning his own cans. Expressing an interest in working with us seemed like a small step at the time, but it soon opened the door to something much bigger 🙌

Today, Mason is part of our Waverley team, helping process around 33,000 containers every day 💪

But for Mason, the role is about much more than work. It has given him friendships, connection and regular interaction with customers 🤝

“This depot has been great. I had the opportunity to bring my cans in, and that’s where it all started. I have made friends, I enjoy interacting with customers, and I feel like I am part of a team.” 😊

Mason’s story shows the real impact behind Recycle Rewards - not only reducing waste, but creating employment, purpose and connection in our community 🌱

City Mission is incredibly proud to operate the Waverley and Somerset depots as part of our broader Social Enterprise operations, alongside Mission Shops and Resale Centres. Together, they create environmental, economic and social value while helping build a stronger and more sustainable Mission 💚

The income generated through these operations helps strengthen our ability to respond as more Tasmanians seek support with food, clothing, bills, housing and other essentials 💙

We are proud of Mason, proud of our depot teams and proud to be helping turn millions of returned containers into something much bigger for North and North West Tasmania 👏

Every container has value. Sometimes, it can also open a door ♻️

Dear Launceston, Thank You 💛♻️

City Mission’s Recycle Rewards Launceston Depot has now reached 7,000,000 eligible containers returned, and we could not be more grateful 🙌

This milestone belongs to every person who has driven through with bags in the back seat, boxes in the boot, bins from the shed, or containers collected after work, school, sport or a weekend clean-up 🚗

It belongs to our regulars, families, local businesses, clubs, community groups and everyone who has chosen to return local 💛

Seven million containers is a huge recycling achievement, but it also means something more. Every return helps reduce waste, support better recycling, and contribute to City Mission programs transforming lives and communities across the North and North West ♻️

So to everyone who has rolled through Recycle Rewards Launceston, donated a refund, encouraged someone else to come down, or made container returns part of your routine - thank you 🙏

You helped make 7,000,000 happen 💛♻️

6,000,000 containers processed♻️
Launceston, this is huge 🙌

Six million eligible containers have now been returned through City Mission’s Recycle Rewards Launceston Depot - and that is no small thing 💛

Six million bottles and cans kept out of landfill. Six million chances to recycle better. Six million returns that show what happens when a community gets behind something that matters 👏

What we love most about this milestone is what it represents.

It represents people doing their bit - the regulars, the families, the businesses, the sports clubs, the weekend clean-outs, the quick drive-through drop-offs on the way home 🚗

And every single return helps create something bigger:
✅ Less litter in our environment
✅ More materials recycled into new products
✅ A cleaner, greener Tasmania
✅ Support for City Mission programs transforming lives and communities across the North and North West 💛

That is the power of choosing to return local. That is the power of a community showing up again and again 🤝

So to everyone who has rolled through our Launceston Depot with bags, boxes, bins and bootloads - thank you. You have helped make this happen 👌

Six million is an incredible milestone. But knowing this community, we’re not done yet 💪

Drive through. Drop off. Get your refund. Keep making an impact ♻️
