🎉 Whitehouse Building Design Turns 4! 🎉

Recently, we celebrated the milestone of four years since we officially became Whitehouse Building Design, and what an incredible few years it has been.

When Shane took over from Rob (formerly Robert Smallwood Building Plans), the goal was simple: continue the same trusted service, honest communication, and quality building design that our community has relied on for decades. With Rob still popping in from time to time around his travels and sharing his wealth of experience, we’ve been lucky to grow while staying true to our roots.

Whitehouse Building Design office closure dates for 2025/2026 🎄

As we start to head towards wrapping up another busy and rewarding year, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our clients, builders, and community partners for your support throughout 2025. It’s been a pleasure helping bring your projects and ideas to life.

Our office will be closed from 19 December and will reopen on 12 January. During this time we’ll be taking a short break to recharge and prepare for another great year ahead.

We wish everyone a safe, happy, and relaxing holiday season. Thank you again for choosing Whitehouse Building Design and we look forward to working with you in the new year!

We love seeing our designs come to life ✨

Proud to share this beautiful new listing at 8 Galena Grove, Lake Cathie. It was a pleasure working with the clients on this custom-designed home by Whitehouse Building Design, expertly brought to life by an experienced local builder.

Set on over 2,300m², this home showcases thoughtful planning, functional flow, and features that make day-to-day living feel effortless. From the custom joinery and feature lighting to the seamless connection with the outdoor spaces, every detail was designed with lifestyle in mind.

Huge congratulations to the owners, the incredible build team, and the agents for presenting it so beautifully.

We’re really glad to have been able to support the Laurieton Fishermen’s Co-op with their rebuild plans, and even happier to hear they’re pleased with our work!! It’s a privilege to help with such an important community project.

Site visit during the week to a house under construction we finished the plans for not too long ago. The client wanted to use the Versiclad roofing system which could span the entire width of the house, rammed earth internal feature walls, locally sourced and milled hardwood posts and beams and North facing celestial windows to capture the Winter sun. Can't wait to see this one finished off

We have changed ownership!

Formally known as Robert Smallwood Building Plans, now Whitehouse Building Design.

Shane has taken over the business from Rob, entering semi-retirement, but you will still see him around a couple of days a week. Shane has worked for Rob for the last 11 years learning everything there is to know about Building Design.

An enormous thanks to Rob for everything he has done over the last 11 years and all he continues to do for us here at Whitehouse Building Design.

We are still the same team providing the same services for all your Building Design needs, and we thank the community for its ongoing support of our small business.
