As the Adelaide Hills settles into the slower rhythm of autumn, our menu has followed suit.
Rich colours in the vines, cooler afternoons, longer lunches and dishes designed to feel comforting, thoughtful and deeply seasonal.
Our new May menu, curated by Head Chef John Clements-Simpson, celebrates the produce and flavours of the season while also showcasing some of the dishes closest to his heart — including one dessert that carries a particularly personal story.
“The best dessert in the world — soufflé — inspired by the flavours of my favourite childhood treat, the Bakewell tart.
When I was a child, my late nan would always give me a Bakewell tart whenever I went around for a cup of tea. This dish is a homage to those memories and to her.
Cherry soufflé with marzipan folded throughout, almond shortbread, and amaretto ice cream.
A dish I cooked during the quarter finals of UK MasterChef: The Professionals 2021.”
This new menu is a reflection of everything we love about this time of year — nostalgic flavours, beautiful local produce and food designed to be lingered over with a glass of wine in hand.
