Many people don’t realise that approximately 1/3 of a disposable nappy or continence aid is plastic. Here at DiaperRecycle we separate the plastic and fibre. This is the recycled nappy plastic spinning at high speed after being melted and before being bagged. The original plastic would have been a translucent white, but after recycling, the PE and PP become a greenish grey colour. (Polyethylene and Polypropylene)
All disposable nappies are recyclable. Unless they are made from a compostable fibre, which is rare. And, for any nappies that say the are, there’s generally nowhere to send them for composting, unless you have a big garden and want a ginormous pile of decomposing nappies in it! So the usual answer in Melbourne for used nappies or continence aids is landfill, or recycling with us!

Another little trinket hidden in the waste - someone’s sadly lost Ooshie. But it’s happy!

We're looking for a Casual Factory Hand in Lilydale. Please spread the word!
We're a very small company looking for a reliable, fit, hard-working Casual Factory Hand to join our team. No prior experience or qualifications are required—just a great attitude, reliability, and physical fitness. Suits most age groups and any gender, you just need to have a willing approach to work and be reasonably flexible physically.
Your primary tasks will involve helping us to keep our plant running smoothly by keeping equipment clean and providing basic assistance during equipment maintenance. You'll be moving around, wasterblasting, wiping, moving things, etc.. It involves bending and fairly constant movement and some lifting, so it will keep you fit. You'll need to wear old clothes and sturdy work boots. The hours are casual and we're still working them out, but minimum shift is 4 hours. Rate per hour is $35 + various allowances on top, eg if work is very dirty etc. We are recyclers and you might be asked to help with that occasionally, but the main focus of this work is maintaining the work environment.
Contact us via DM and we'll send you more information. Or ask us any questions. Thank you!

Sometimes we receive little gifts - not in the mail, but unintentionally in a bag with the nappies! We have no idea which of our nappy collection service customers this belongs to - but if you recognise it, please let us know! We think it’s so cute. Someone might be quite sad about having lost it!

We’ve put in a new system for bagging the cat litter. This time we were filling wheelie bins for a regular customer. Our cat litter is truly amazing - made from recycled nappies and continence aids. And it sells out regularly. However, in a few months we’ll be making a lot more, so keep an eye out!
