She’s a humble, gentle leader who avoids recognition and self-promotion and opts instead to celebrate the collaborative work and approach of the community she is embedded in. VicHealth has been a source of innovation, independence and resource for many of our clients including sporting associations, local government projects and groups working in important fields like su***de prevention. The announcement by the Victorian government on Friday to bring VicHealth into the Department of Health - where it will be strangled by bureaucracy - is more than a shame, it's a tragedy...please, if you have time, sign the petition via this link.

Throughout 2024 we've been lucky to work with a great team of changemakers in the Yarra Ranges, helping them navigate the "mess and the magic" to help improve the outcomes for children and families in the Upper Yarra region.
At their recent meeting we were gifted a new logo (!) as they reflected on our work together - and we love it!

We often stop to reflect on how fortunate we feel to do work that brings us joy and helps move groups and communities forward. And to get to do this in our own hometown, where we work live and play, felt super lucky.

Bringing people together to have conversations and build connections is critical in community to move us forward. At a time when division feels like the norm, creating the space for thoughtful conversations and collaborative approaches to address the challenges we face is critical. It feels right.

What a great night talking with community leaders from Casey about the future.

Thanks for inviting us to be part of the team Democracy Co and to Aaron Violi MP for your leadership and passion…and for staying quiet on the night!

Despite the busy sitting week in Canberra, I will always be available to listen to the voices of our community.

Last night I hosted a virtual Casey Community Leaders Forum, where local community leaders joined online to discuss their ideal future community, build connections and explore opportunities to strengthen our region.

I will be hosting Part 2 of this forum in person over the coming weeks to further build on the ideas shared, in collaboration with Democracy Co and Hatrick and Co.

I believe it is important to involve community in community decisions, and this forum will give local leaders a space to shape our future to build an even stronger community.

We’re so fortunate to work with groups like this.

Volunteers are the life-blood of our communities and this group came together to explore and share ways to reignite and reimagine volunteering in their organizations.

Conversations sparking connections inspiring collaboration…4 hours together flew by!
