When we designed the cages in our mighty 'dog mobile' they asked 'what gauge do you want the mesh'? You got spaniel snoz sized? Now all the handlers have to do is drive along nice and slowly... 😀 Double barrel detection too!

I posted this pic the other day of our three faithful hounds Olive (rear), Narlu (middle) and Jet (front). An interesting shot of detection dogs expertly waiting on the handler for the next command ... solid as rocks. But there's a bit more to it than might meet the eye. See, one of them in fact has a head start on the others and his/her spring(er) has kinda already sprung, even though they haven't 'moved' as such. Who gets your vote for first cab off the rank come "FIND" time!?

Exciting opportunity to join our Cane Toad Control Field Team!

Training, equipment, vehicle and accommodation provided.
Working in a team environment with day and night time work - Tuesday to Friday morning - 3 ½ days (approx 32hrs).
- Must have field survey experience.
- Environmental science student/graduate or similar preferred.

The focus for the project is on protecting natural assets on the front line of the cane toad invasion in Tabulam and the surrounding area.

Field Officers will be responsible for manual collection, trap setting and monitoring of traps and data recording on both public and private land, humane euthanasia and disposal.
