💛 A Heartfelt Thank You to The Portland Quilters

We extend our deepest gratitude to the wonderful Portland Quilters for their incredibly generous contribution of $600 in support of the Lithgow Women’s and Children’s Crisis Centre.

Your kindness reaches far beyond the donation itself. It brings comfort, dignity, and hope to women and children who are navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Knowing that our community stands with them, stitched together with compassion and care, makes an immeasurable difference.

Your generosity reminds us that healing is a collective effort, and that even the smallest acts of kindness can wrap someone in warmth when they need it most. Thank you for standing with us, for believing in our mission, and for helping create a safer, more supportive future for vulnerable families in our region.

A heartfelt thank you to Share the Dignity for supporting the Lithgow community with essential menstrual products for those doing it tough. Your commitment to ensuring that no one has to face period poverty alone brings dignity, comfort, and relief to so many.

Your compassion reaches far beyond the items you provide, it sends a powerful message that everyone deserves to feel respected, supported, and seen. We are deeply grateful for the kindness, care, and humanity you continue to show our community.

Thank you for making a real difference

🌟 Celebrating Heidi's 6th Year at LCP! 🌟

This week we are recognising someone who has been a steady, thoughtful, and deeply valued part of our team from the moment she arrived. Heidi joined us right as COVID hit, a time of uncertainty for everyone, and in true Heidi fashion, she stepped straight in with calm, capability, and a willingness to help wherever she was needed.

Over the past six years, she has become an essential part of keeping both LCP and LWCCC running smoothly. So many of the tasks that keep us organised, supported, and moving forward happen because of her dedication behind the scenes.

What we appreciate just as much is her commitment to growth. Heidi continues to learn, adapt, and stretch herself in ways that benefit not only her own development but also the people she works alongside every day.

Happy 6 Years at LCP!

GREENS MOTION PASSED! 💚🙌

The NSW Upper House has passed my Greens motion calling on the NSW Labor government to:

✅ heed the calls of experts to properly invest in evidence-based domestic and family violence prevention, response & recovery

✅ meet DVNSW’s demands for a 50% core funding increase for existing services

✅ facilitate truth-telling with First Nations communities about the ongoing impacts of colonisation & chronic underinvestment in Aboriginal-led DFV responses

✅ direct funding toward Aboriginal-led community-controlled solutions

✅ provide a regional loading payment for regional, rural & remote DFV frontline services

Now the Government has to follow through on it! They are deciding the NSW Budget for next year right now - please use your voice to call for full funding for domestic violence frontline services.

Stand with the Central Tablelands and Blue Mountains Community Legal Centre

The Central Tablelands & Blue Mountains Community Legal Centre (CTBMCLC) provides essential legal help to people across our region — including clients of Lithgow Community Projects who rely on this support to stay safe, housed, and connected.

But right now, CTBMCLC is facing a $250,000 loss of funding on 1 July.

Without urgent action, vital frontline legal services in our community are at risk.

Your voice can make the difference and together, we can keep people safe and ensure our region doesn’t lose this critical service.

CTBMCLC faces a $250k funding cliff on 1 July. Stand with us to protect vital legal help in our region — contact your MP today and demand urgent funding. Your voice can keep people safe.

How the NSW Government responds to the calls of the specialist DFV sector, researchers, peak bodies, victim-survivors and communities in this budget will shape not just systems, but lives.

Right now, services are being stretched beyond capacity. Demand is rising, complexity is deepening, and without urgent investment, the gap between those seeking safety and those able to provide it will continue to grow.

Increase core funding to the specialist sector by 50% ($177.4m) before the crisis outstrips our resources completely.

Every delay has consequences – for safety, for recovery, and for lives that can’t afford to wait.

Today is National Close the Gap Day

Today is a powerful reminder that health equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cannot wait.

Lithgow Community Projects stands with First Nations communities in calling for fair, culturally safe, and accessible healthcare for all. Since 2007, Close the Gap Day has united people across Australia to shine a light on the unacceptable health disparities created by generations of inequity and the ongoing impacts of colonisation.

Closing the Gap means listening to Indigenous leadership, supporting community‑led solutions, and advocating for real change in policies, services, and systems. These gaps are not inevitable; they are the result of barriers we can dismantle together.

We invite our Lithgow community to learn, reflect, and take meaningful action. Attend a local event, amplify First Nations voices, support programs that strengthen culture and wellbeing, and stand up for equity every day.

Health equity is a shared responsibility. Let’s walk this path together.

If Louis Theroux's new documentary on the Manosphere has sparked, or even revitalised, your drive to make a difference – good news, the research exists to guide you.

Australian research shows dismantling the manosphere requires a multi-pronged approach that includes actions like cutting off financial lifelines, keeping pressure on the tech industry to remove harmful content, building critical thinking to challenge extremist ideas and what we’re shown online, and teaching boys and men to love and respect themselves.

This Harmony Week, Lithgow Community Projects is celebrating the strength and diversity of our community.

Every culture, every story and every lived experience adds to who we are as a community and as an individual.

By providing a safe space of respect, inclusion and empathy, we continue to support those facing homelessness or Domestic and Family Violence, and help to create a community where everyone feels they belong.
