VACANCY!!!!
Restaurant Supervisor
The Hungry Monkey - Kiama NSW
Part-time
How 'bout we skip straight to the meaty part.... We are a hundred seat restaurant/cafe located in the small coastal beach town of Kiama. We are biased - but we are pretty sure we are the coolest place to work for, ever! (now that might be an exaggeration, but remember, we are biased). Honestly, the job is not all sunshine and roses (no job is right?) - there is some good news and some bad news.
Lets get the bad news out of the way first:
Working weekends - Now working in hospitality unfortunately means working weekends and nights. However, being opened only 4 nights, you can still enjoy some kind of social life.
Review point 1.
Now onto the good stuff:
The work is fun, fresh and dynamic. You will be working directly with our co-founders, Jack and Taylor, to develop new ideas and products.
We aren't big on stress. We like to keep an open path of communication to help you get things done efficiently, the first time!
The Crew - All our Front of House staff are young, driven and of course cool (again, we are biased). We are like a family here, so you need to want to have a second family if you apply for this role.
The Rock Pool - I know what you're thinking, what has the job got to do with the rock pool? Well its a 2 minute walk to our local ocean rock pool. On your break, duck down and dive in - refresh yourself for the few hours you have left.
Now lets talk about the job requirements:
You've gotta be organised and punctual whilst leading by example. We have a few younger staff here who have great work ethic and would love someone like yourself to teach them the tricks of the trade.
You need to be the type of person that takes joy in getting things done. Every day you will bang out a list of stuff. Fun stuff. Necessary stuff.
You need to be a person that takes pride in delivering a remarkable experience to our guests. You know, you need to be a person that feels good by making others feel good.
You have gotta love that fast paced environment. We are busy. Not all the time, but when we are, its time to click into gear and get s**t done.
We want you to be meticulous in your work. If you are shy or quiet (which actually sounds perfect for us) that is totally cool. We are not looking for the life of the party…in fact, quite the opposite. We are looking for a good, fun person, who gets s**t done.
In short, your job is to completely run the operations of our restaurant in the evening. And have fun of course. Our venue is casual, but we do expect professionalism and punctuality.
What we don't expect is perfection or any particular existing skills. We can teach you that. Once you start with us, perfection and skills will come!
Now if this job has got you on the edge of your seat and so excited you would do it for free (we totally don't expect you to work for free, however if you are offering, you're on!), this is what we have on offer: A Part - Time Restaurant Supervisor role, working 20-30hours per week.
In addition to being a detailed person, you must follow systems and processes. In fact, just to prove that you are detail oriented and can follow procedures, when you apply for this position in the subject line of the email you must include “I have found my type of peeps”. Yep, that’s our little trick to sort out the people who blanket send their resume to anyone and everyone, from the folks (that’s you) who are truly interested in this position.
We are looking to bring a new colleague on board as soon as possible, although we are super happy to wait it out until that perfect candidate applies and ticks all the boxes. We are after a perfect cultural fit, someone who is vibrant and driven and epic to be around. Thanks for applying, we cant wait to read through all your emails and hopefully you can add something quirky in your email.
Job Type: Part-time
Experience:
restaurant management: 1 year (Preferred)?
