🛡️ Is Your Gas Cylinder Safe to Refill?

Before you head out to get a refill, it’s important to check if your bottle is still in-date. Under Australian safety regulations, gas cylinders must be inspected and stamped every 10 years.
How to Check Your Cylinder

Find the Stamp: Look at the collar or the base of the bottle for a stamped date (usually MM/YY).

Do the Math: Your cylinder is valid for 10 years after the date stamped.

Note: This is a "test date," not a "use-by date." You can use the gas inside after the 10 years, but you cannot have it refilled.

Check for Re-testing: If the original date is old, look for a secondary stamp. If it has been re-tested, it’s good for another decade from that new date.

⚠️ Example: If your bottle is stamped 03/15, it expired in March 2025 and can no longer be refilled until it is professionally re-tested.
