Fun Fact Friday: Banner Edition

Fun fact Friday:
Those tiny holes in a vinyl mesh banner are there for a reason — and it’s not just to make it look fancy.

They’re designed to let air pass through, which helps reduce wind pressure on the banner. That means less strain on the fence, less flapping, less tearing, and a much better chance your banner actually survives the great Australian outdoors.
So while a standard solid vinyl banner might be perfect in some places, on a construction fence or exposed site? Mesh is usually the smarter option.
It’s one of those little design details that makes a massive practical difference.

Which honestly sums up signage in general:
tiny details 🤝 big impact
So next time you drive past a branded construction site banner, you can smugly tell your passenger:
“Actually, that’s mesh. Better in wind load conditions.”
And if they don’t care, that’s on them.
We think it’s cool.

The Online Shop Is Coming Soon

Big little update: our online shop is coming soon and we are equal parts excited and mildly overwhelmed by how many ideas we want to put in it.
The goal is simple: make it easier for you to order some of our most popular products without needing the whole custom quote process every single time.

Think:
easier ordering
more visibility on what we offer
standard product ranges
fun new giftable pieces
products for businesses and events
It won’t replace our custom work (we still love a weird brief and a bespoke signage request), but it will make life easier if you already know what you need and just want to get on with it.

If there’s something you’d love to see in the shop — tell us.
A-frame signs?
Safety decals?
Mother’s Day gift range?
Builder banner templates?
Deck chairs?

We’re building it to be genuinely useful, not just cute. Though yes, it will also be cute.

Mother’s Day Products: Thoughtful > Generic
Can we all agree that the best gifts are the ones that feel like they were chosen for that person and not just grabbed while you were also buying milk?

That’s why personalised Mother’s Day gifts hit so well.
They don’t need to be over-the-top or wildly expensive. They just need to feel:
intentional
personal
specific
like you actually thought about her for more than 14 seconds
And the nice thing about custom products is that they can suit so many styles. Sweet. Elegant. Soft. Bold. Minimal. Floral. Sentimental. Funny.
There’s room for all of it.

If you’ve seen the photos we’ve been sharing, you’ll know we can create really lovely Mother’s Day pieces — and now is exactly the right time to start planning if you want to avoid the last-minute gift scramble.
Also: mums talk.

And if one sibling brings a beautiful personalised gift and the other turns up with servo flowers and “whatever was left at Woolies,” that’s between you and your family dynamic.
We’re just here to help you avoid that outcome.

New Product Spotlight: Vinyl Mesh Construction Banners
NEW PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT 🚧
And this one is less “cute gift for Mum” and more “your fence needs to start pulling its weight.”
We’re officially spotlighting vinyl mesh banners for construction sites, and if you’re in building, construction, landscaping, renovations or site-based work, these are such a solid addition to your business branding.
Why they work:
Wind passes through them, so they’re more suitable for fencing
They’re durable outdoors
They look clean and professional
They market your business every day the site is active
They make your site feel finished, organised and intentional
You can add:
logo
services
website
phone number
project images
social handles
And the best part? They don’t need to be over-designed. Sometimes a strong layout, bold colours and clear details are all you need.
They’re one of those products that are deeply practical and deeply underrated. Which, to be fair, is very on brand for signage.
If you’ve got a site coming up and want a quote, send us a message.
If you’ve got a fence currently doing absolutely nothing for your branding, also send us a message.

Post 5 – Easter Was Fun. Now Let’s Get Back Into It.

Easter has officially wrapped up, and hopefully yours involved at least one hot cross bun, one chocolate egg, and one solid nap.
Now that we’re back on deck, April is shaping up to be one of those sneaky-good months where you can actually get organised before things get hectic again.

This month we’re focusing on:
practical signage
construction banners
custom Mother’s Day pieces
fresh ideas for upcoming projects
And honestly, April is the perfect month for all of that. It sits in that sweet spot where the Easter chaos has passed, but Mother’s Day and mid-year event prep are just starting to appear on the horizon.

So if you’ve been meaning to:
update your business signage
sort your site fencing
order something custom for Mum
get ahead for upcoming events
…this is your nudge.

Also, side note: if your Easter decorations are still up and you’re reading this while eating the emergency stash of mini eggs, no judgement. Absolutely none. We support seasonal snacks at all times.
But yes — we are now pivoting from bunny mode into banners and branding mode.
And it’s looking good.

Mother’s Day Is Coming, Don’t Panic Yet

A gentle public service announcement: Mother’s Day is coming.
No, this is not me trying to start a panic spiral. This is me lovingly stepping in before you find yourself standing in a supermarket on the Saturday before, staring at one sad candle and a mug that says “Best Mum Ever” in Comic Sans.

We can do better.

This year, if you want something that actually feels considered, personalised Mother’s Day products are the move.
The reason custom gifts work so well is because they don’t feel generic. They feel like:
you thought ahead
you know the person
you cared enough to make it personal

Whether it’s something decorative, engraved, printed, or floral and custom, the beauty is that it can suit the recipient properly.
Some mums love sentimental.
Some love elegant.
Some love practical.
Some love anything that doesn’t involve cooking dinner.

And if you’re a business, Mother’s Day products are a brilliant seasonal range to promote — especially if you already sell giftable items or want to add something special to your offering.
The key takeaway?
You do not need to wait until the week before.
You do not need to default to panic chocolate.
And you absolutely can be the organised one this year.
You’ve got time. Let’s use it wisely.

Why Builders Shouldn’t Ignore Site Signage

Builders, tradies, renovators, this one’s for you.
You know what’s wild? So many businesses spend good money on websites, business cards, uniforms, social ads… and then completely ignore the massive advertising space sitting right in front of them: the construction fence.

Your site signage is one of the easiest ways to market your business while you’re already on the job.
Think about it:
Neighbours see it
Passersby see it
Drivers see it
Future clients see it
Other trades see it

That fence is doing a lot of work. Or at least… it could be.
A custom vinyl mesh banner lets you:
Brand the site professionally
Add your logo, website and phone number
Mention your services

Show project imagery if you want
Create a cleaner, more put-together look
And the difference between “random temporary fence” and “professional branded construction site” is bigger than people realise.
It signals:
credibility
organisation
confidence
visibility

Also, selfishly? It just looks better.
And if you’ve ever spent thousands on a ute wrap but left your construction site looking anonymous, I’m lovingly telling you — you’re missing a trick.
Your next client could literally be the person who walks their dog past that site every morning.

So yes, site signage matters.

And yes, mesh banners are one of the smartest ways to do it.

What Is a Vinyl Mesh Banner, Exactly?

Let’s talk vinyl mesh banners because if you’ve ever driven past a construction site and seen a giant branded banner attached to the fence, that’s exactly what we mean.

At first glance, it just looks like a banner. But the “mesh” part is important. These banners are designed with tiny perforations all through them, which lets wind pass through instead of turning the whole thing into a giant flapping sail of chaos.

And that matters because Australian construction sites are not exactly known for their calm, delicate weather conditions.

Mesh banners are ideal for:
Temporary fencing
Construction sites
Renovation sites
Events and barriers
Large outdoor promotional areas
They’re perfect if you want your site to:
Look more polished
Display your branding clearly
Include your phone number, website or services

Market your business while the project is underway
Basically, instead of your fence just being “that fence,” it becomes free advertising.
And from a branding perspective? Huge opportunity.

You’ve already got the site. You’re already doing the work. You may as well make sure everyone walking, driving or living nearby knows who is doing it.
A good banner should be:
Easy to read from a distance
On-brand
Bold, clear and uncluttered
Sized correctly for the fence

Professionally finished with proper eyelets and reinforcement
If your site currently has no signage, or worse — a faded old banner zip-tied on by sheer determination — this is your reminder that it might be time for an upgrade.
Because if the fence is already there… it should absolutely be working harder for you.

Blog Promo: Mesh Banners + Mother’s Day

April’s blog is officially live, and honestly… it’s a bit of an unexpected duo. We’re talking vinyl mesh banners for construction sites and Mother’s Day products in the same post — which sounds chaotic, but actually makes perfect sense once you get into it.

Why? Because this month is all about showing how custom print can work in really different ways.

On one side, you’ve got vinyl mesh banners — practical, strong, outdoor-ready signage that turns a plain old construction fence into a giant billboard for your business. Ideal for builders, renovators, landscapers, tradies, developers… basically anyone working on-site who doesn’t want their fence to just sit there doing nothing.

On the other side, we’ve got Mother’s Day — which is the total opposite mood. Softer, more personal, more heartfelt. We’re talking custom products that feel intentional and special, not last-minute servo flowers and panic chocolate.
The point of the blog is this: great signage and print isn’t one-size-fits-all. Sometimes it’s there to market your business in a high-impact way. Other times, it’s there to help you create something meaningful.

Inside the blog we cover:
What mesh banners are and why they work so well on construction sites
What makes a banner actually effective (because not all of them are)
Why personalised Mother’s Day products are always a winner

FAQs around both product types
So whether you’re a builder trying to make your site look more polished, or someone who wants to get organised for Mother’s Day early for once in your life, it’s worth a read.

Hot take: safety signs don’t have to be ugly.
Yes, certain symbols and colours are standard for a reason (we still want people to recognise a hazard sign at a glance), but outside of the regulated stuff, there is plenty of room to make your safety signage look tidy, professional and even on-brand.
Think:
Site maps with your brand colours and logo

Safety boards that match your visual style

Floor decals that use your fonts and icon style

“Please wait here” decals that feel friendly, not shouty

The goal is clarity first, aesthetics second—but you can absolutely have both.
If your safety signage currently looks like 17 different styles from 6 different hardware stores and 3 different decades… we can fix that.
We’ll keep everything compliant while giving it a cohesive, clean look that feels like it actually belongs in your space.
If you want your safety setup to feel less “random collection of stickers” and more “this business has their act together,” you know where to find us.

Here’s a quick Safety Signage Checklist to kick off March like the responsible legend you are:

✅ Clear “Exit” and “Emergency Exit” signs

✅ First aid and fire equipment clearly marked

✅ Any steps, changes in level or slippery areas signposted

✅ Warehouse or back-of-house walkways marked with lines or decals

✅ “Authorised Staff Only” or restricted areas labelled

✅ Temporary hazards (like wet floors) have signs ready to go

✅ Signs are readable, not sun-faded, cracked, or peeling

✅ Floor decals aren’t worn away to mysterious blobs

If you mentally ticked it all off—amazing. Gold star.
If you hesitated, squinted, or thought “oh yeah, that sign from 2010 probably needs to go”… that’s your cue.
We’re not here to scare you, just to help make things:
Safer 🙌

Clearer 🧠

Better looking 🎨

Send us a message if you’d like help updating or planning safety signage for your space. We promise we’ll make it as painless (and fun) as possible.
