Welcome to the expanding ‘Containers for Care’ initiative being spearheaded by RSPCA Mackay super volunteer Rob!

I’ve been eager to say:
‘the animals at the shelter have a new Gardian’!

🏢 With more then 20 businesses across Mackay already participating in the Containers for Care program, if you think you might be a fit to the current 10c program reach out and we can organise a cross business consultation.

👀 The evolution of the Containers for Care program will see not only 10c refundables being recycled but also a mini circular economy within Mackay. Products and reusable waste exchanged between charity’s and businesses to land at their most useable and sustainable location.
Keep your eyes peeled for ways you and your business can join in.

Shout out to a friendship you didnt know you needed!

When your blue Blondies Bins start getting damaged from our plethora of palm fronds in the region some of them have made their way over to us for storage of plastic bottles.

Too good to go to waste just yet!

💚 Every little bit helps 💰

The post Easter and start of school holiday clean up is a great reason to come for a visit to Mackay Recycling and get some extra cash in your bank!

Our automated reverse vending machine at Rural View is available from 6am to 8pm every day of the week.

Reminder

We are closed for the 4 public holidays over the Easter period.

Our RVM at Rural View will remain open however it will be emptied less frequently than usual to allow staff to enjoy the break.

Stay safe on the roads, don’t eat too much chocolate and we will see you when the gates reopen on Tuesday 7th April.

This week we said goodbye to Sharon.

Shaz is one of our longest serving employees having been with us for over 4 years!

That’s a WHOLE lot of cans counted! 💚

For the last year you would have seen her at our Rural View site teaching numerous customers to use the regions first Reverse Vending Machine and implementing our bag return system for bag drops.

She has a stat of over 250 customers being signed up to the Containers for Change QLD Scheme whilst she has been there!
So many Northern Beaches residents have been able to thrive in the world of 10c drink recycling with her help!

We wish Sharon all the best as she takes her next steps and moves out of the region.
You never know, we may see her again.


‘You’ve got time to lean, you’ve got time to clean’ a Sharon Philosophy that will remain.
