Jan will provide an update on the projects, priorities and plans helping shape the future of the Nambucca Valley, along with insights into Council’s role in supporting economic development, tourism and local business across our region.

This is an opportunity to gain a better understanding of Council’s current direction, hear about initiatives that may impact local businesses, and consider how your own work, business or organisation contributes to the region’s future.

Through her work with the local business community, including Council’s business networking events and small business newsletter, Jan has developed strong connections with businesses across the Valley. While this session is primarily an update on Council’s priorities and activities, there will also be opportunities to ask questions, share perspectives and engage in conversation about the opportunities and challenges facing our region.

Whether you own a business, lead a team, work within a local organisation or simply have an interest in the future of the Nambucca Valley, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of Council’s current focus, stronger local connections, and valuable insights into the factors shaping our community and economy.

A huge thank you to Lisa Crawford from Oasis Within for being our guest speaker at our networking dinner last night. 💚

Lisa shared some simple but powerful reminders about the foundations of wellbeing: getting enough sleep, nourishing our bodies with good nutrition, moving regularly, and taking time to regulate our nervous systems.

There were plenty of laughs as we all practised giving ourselves heart hugs and learned how holding different fingers can help bring a sense of calm and balance when life feels overwhelming.

In a world that often celebrates being busy, it was a timely reminder that looking after ourselves isn’t a luxury, it’s essential.

And yes... we’re all looking forward to trying that Maca Root drink! ☕✨

Thank you, Lisa, for sharing your wisdom, practical tools and gentle encouragement with us. We left feeling inspired to make our wellbeing a priority.

🎨🖼️ Reminder: It’s not too late to check out the Women in Art Exhibition at Matilda Street Gallery
The exhibition is still open but ends this weekend.

And we just wanted to send another shoutout to the Macksville Hotel for their support of our Women in Art launch. Thank you 🙏

Join us this Thursday night for our winter evening event at The Cubana Resort at Nambucca Heads, with guest speaker Lisa Crawford.

The event will begin at 5:30pm with nibbles and cocktails/mocktails around the fire, before the event begins at 6pm with a conversation with Lisa Crawford, the co-founder of Oasis Within, a private retreat sanctuary in the Nambucca Valley, followed by a taste of the menu, banquet style.

In this gentle, conversational talk, Lisa explores how the way we care for ourselves needs to shift through the different seasons of a woman’s life.

Together we’ll explore the often overlooked connection between chronic stress, our hormonal changes, as early as our mid 30’s and why caring for your nervous system isn’t a luxury but a quiet foundation underneath everything else.

The talk includes a short, simple practice you can take home and use anywhere, in charged moments. Whether you’re in your late 30s and just beginning to notice the shift, deep in the thick of midlife, or on the other side looking back, this is an invitation to slow down and listen in, to your body, your wisdom, communicating in those moments of pause.

We look forward to seeing you there!

💰Bookkeeping Workshop!
Join the Nambucca Valley Women’s Business Network at the Nambucca Heads RSL Club Saturday June 27th from 10am to 1pm, bring your laptop and any burning questions about book keeping you have but haven’t known where to ask them!

Like what is a book keeper and why do I need one?

Can I be my own book keeper?

This workshop will be a beginner friendly session to learn about about stress-free (or minimalised at least) book keeping basics, practical tips and simple methods to keep your business’s financial health on track.

My name is Diana and I run my bookkeeping business called Diana Does Books - I have worked with businesses of all sizes and industries for many years and take a down to earth approach to understanding business owners and what we need to do to make the book keeping side of their business easy.

I want to share some key concepts about what it is that businesses need to know and understand about their business finances, what a book keeper does and how you can keep your businesses bookwork in order.

Book keeping making sense of the money you spend and earn in your business

Labelling the movement of money as income and expenses and understanding why some of that movement is labelled as business and others are labelled as personal

This workshop is free for our members or $55 for non-members. Our membership fee is actually $55 so become a member first and do the workshop for free. That will keep your bookkeeper happy.
