This week, Containers for Change is set to reach an incredible 5 billion 10¢ containers saved from general waste across WA.

To put that into perspective 🌍: laid end to end, five billion containers could circle the world 24 times!

Thank you to our amazing community for your continued support and efforts — every container counts, and together we're creating real impact. 💚♻️

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, Scouts WA Recycling has helped deliver some powerful results through Containers for Change:

🔹 257.1 million containers diverted from landfill
🔹 17.7 thousand tonnes of containers saved
🔹 $25.7 million returned to the WA community
🔹 75.7 thousand m³ of landfill space saved
🔹 36.8 thousand tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided
🔹 137.5 million kWh of energy saved

From aluminium cans and glass bottles to cartons and plastics, every container makes a difference — for the environment, for our communities, and for Scouting programs across WA.

New national research by Scouts Australia and Resilient Youth Australia confirms that Scouting builds resilience and a strong sense of community. https://scouts.com.au/resilience/

The research shows that Scouts are:

✔️ 20% more likely to face up to problems

✔️ 10% more likely to get along with different people

✔️ 10% more likely to feel good about themselves

✔️ 23% more open about how they're feeling

Future Eco Leaders in Action! ♻️⚜️

We are thrilled to see the children at Keiki Early Learning Edgewater getting stuck into recycling! They recently had a visit from Eco Leader Imo to learn all about which containers belong in the bin and how they can help the planet. 🌏

A huge thank you to the Keiki Edgewater community for choosing to donate their 10c refunds to Scouts WA (and the Cancer Council WA). Every container recycled helps fund scouting adventures and sustainable education for WA youth.

High-fives all round for these little legends! 🙌
