My boys were lucky enough to receive a fabulous new (to us) set of bunks for their bedroom.
I had also, in some decluttering, uncovered a photo of me that Mum and Dad had of me on their dressing table and which I inherited.i guess because no one else wanted it. 🤣🤣
Well, this is my Georgie's interior decorating effort 😊
I love him!!
This is actually my byline photo from The Land, taken when I was 22 years old and a very green age journo. Twenty five years ago, my second role as a journo, driving around the countryside meeting fabulous people and having the privilege of telling their incredible stories!

Do you get the Sunday Sads? I used to. It could be the most gorgeous day, fabulous things planned, and I would feel nauseous from about 11am onwards, because my beautiful day of freedom was slipping away, and all the things I didn't love about work were waiting for me, like shadows with great gaping maws of ick, for the next five days in a row. Sounds awful doesn't it?

Waking up one morning, having a quick scroll on Facebook and seeing the comments on this post (below) is one of my career highlights as a woman running her own business in a field that she bloody loves!
I might be good at promoting my clients, but man I find it hard to promote myself. Seeing the results of putting myself out there, and actually telling people what I do (I mean, who knew that would work, right?!) was a huge validation in that moment.
And while I love that my efforts to get better at promoting myself and my business are working, I love even more that at least 90% of my work comes from client/colleague/associate referrals. Because that is the greatest validation of all.
I'm lucky to love my work, and I'm lucky to work with clients that I respect and admire. The three lovely referrals on this post led to me doing some work for an incredible organisation supporting young women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Passionate, resourceful, doing real good, the women running Defining Beauty - through Breast Cancer are a force to be reckoned with!

Replace the laptop with a manual typewriter, and take away the glasses, because my vision was perfect back then, and change the view out the window to trees, rather than tall buildings, and this was me, SO many weekends of my childhood. Taught myself to type properly at such a young age, and used to write, and write and write!
If you don't LOVE writing, you can give yourself permission to hand over your writing tasks to someone who does!
