How do you replace gas heating in a high-ceiling workshop where large roller doors are frequently open?

Port Adelaide Enfield City Depot needed to improve heating at fixed workstations while supporting its commitment to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Its existing overhead gas heaters were mounted more than four metres above the floor, and several units were no longer operating.

Following a site assessment, SBH Solutions specified a combination of 2kW single and 4kW double Helios Titan short-wave infrared heaters. The units create targeted comfort zones around occupied work areas without requiring the entire workshop to be heated.

Short-wave infrared heating works differently from conventional systems that rely on warming the surrounding air.

The heater projects radiant energy into a defined coverage area. People, equipment and surfaces within this area absorb the energy directly, creating a localised comfort zone around the workstation.

This allows heat to be concentrated where personnel are working, while the unused volume of a large warehouse or factory can remain at a lower temperature.
