We’ve been named a finalist in the 2026 Business Hunter Awards for Excellence in Workplace Health, Safety & Wellbeing.

It’s the first year this category has been included in the Awards, and our first time as a Business Hunter finalist.

That makes this one a pretty special milestone for our team.

See you in September!

AI can help draft procedures, summarise legislation and generate ideas in seconds. Used well, it's a valuable tool.

But it can't walk your site, understand your people, recognise subtle risks or apply the professional judgement that comes from years of experience.

The biggest risk isn't that AI gets something obviously wrong. It's when it sounds convincing enough that no one questions it.

We've shared our thoughts on where AI adds real value in WHS, where it falls short, and why human expertise remains essential.

What role do you see AI playing in workplace health and safety? We'd love to hear your thoughts.

We were pretty excited to open the Newcastle Herald on the weekend and see Red Insight featured as part of the Hunter Safety Awards special feature.

The article focuses on something we've become increasingly passionate about over the years:

The difference between having a WHS system and having a WHS system that actually works in practice.

We've seen some incredibly detailed systems over the years. We've also seen how quickly even the best-looking documentation can fall apart if it doesn't reflect how work is really performed.

Workplaces are dynamic. Conditions change. Priorities compete. People make decisions under pressure.

That's why our focus has been on helping businesses build safety systems that are practical, usable and realistic to maintain, not just compliant on paper.

A huge thank you to our clients, team and industry partners who continue to challenge our thinking and help us improve.

And thank you to Magnetic Shots for capturing some fantastic moments from the awards evening.

18 new and updated WHS Codes of Practice have been released in NSW since December 2025.

Most businesses will immediately ask: "What do we need to update?"

Fair question.

But perhaps the better question is: Is your safety system still fit for purpose?

Some of these Codes are replacing guidance that has been around for decades. Workplaces have changed significantly since then, but many businesses are still relying on systems that have evolved through minor document updates rather than genuine review.

From 1 July 2026, organisations will be required to comply with applicable Codes of Practice or demonstrate an equivalent or higher standard of health and safety.

The changes are important.

But what they really provide is an opportunity to stop and ask whether your systems, procedures and controls still reflect the realities of the work being performed today.

We've put together a short article exploring why most businesses may be asking the wrong question.
