18 new and updated WHS Codes of Practice have been released in NSW since December 2025.
Most businesses will immediately ask: "What do we need to update?"
Fair question.
But perhaps the better question is: Is your safety system still fit for purpose?
Some of these Codes are replacing guidance that has been around for decades. Workplaces have changed significantly since then, but many businesses are still relying on systems that have evolved through minor document updates rather than genuine review.
From 1 July 2026, organisations will be required to comply with applicable Codes of Practice or demonstrate an equivalent or higher standard of health and safety.
The changes are important.
But what they really provide is an opportunity to stop and ask whether your systems, procedures and controls still reflect the realities of the work being performed today.
